Over the weekend I actually spent money on myself and had a clothes spree . Yay me .

I know my size so I bought a few things and went home .

Turns out my work trousers are too long ffs .

But the thing is being a guy i couldnt be arsed to try them on in the changing cubicle thingy in the store.

I know you lady folk try everything on in store, even knickers I'd imagine.

So guys , do you just buy and leave it always try stuff on whilst you are there ??

I shop at next online mostly I seem to have my sizes off to a tee I’ll admit not to trying on in shop as I’m pretty confident on size

I roughly know my sizes, it's leg length that always fucks me up, but I'm not bad at turning them in/up, so not too big a deal. Although saying that, I've got about 12 pairs of jeans I'll never wear unless I put 4 inches on around the waist and get put on a rack to stretch myself

I'll try on if I'm buying something different (a shirt) or in a shop I haven't bought from before (as sizes can be slighyly different between places). Generally I buy from Next Online so I know their sizing and can buy without needing to try.

It’s what all mums use to hem the legs of their kids trousers so they can let them down as they grow! You just turn the hem and iron it between the folds.

We went clothes shopping and all the changing rooms were closed anyway.

fold a new hem, put the wonder web inside the new crease and iron, when the glue melts and hardens it creates the new hem with no need for sewing

God I couldn't buy stuff without trying it on but us women have the extra problem of even when things fit, sometimes they don't sit right over your boobs or hips. I have to try stuff on and lift my arms, sit down and bend over in it to make sure it's all okay. I only buy online if they do free returns. I'd say out of things I try on I only buy/keep 25% of it.

Changing rooms are godawful places to make decisions. Bad lighting, poorly fitting curtains, no one to offer objective opinion, noises from outside... ugh.

I'd rather try at home and return if necessary.

There are no shops in my town that are allowing anyone to try anything on in changing rooms during current covid restrictions.

So I annoyingly had to buy 6 pairs of jeans, take them home, try them at home and return the ones that were no good! What an absolute pain in the ass.

It has taken the pleasure out of clothes shopping. So I don't really bother anymore unless I really really need something specific.

Different companies have different fit, so i fluctuate between sizes depending on brand.

If it's too long, you can adjust that easy or have it tailored to fit

I always try on at home, especially if it's dresses. Changing room lighting is almost always horrendous and sometimes the mirrors are angled. I prefer to out my makeup and heels on and try on in my own house.

But the reason we need to try on is I can be almost certain a men's '34R' trousers in a few different shops are all pretty much the same sizes. Whereas a women's 14 jeans will be different sizes in almost every shop. No uniformity.

"I always like to try things on and never shop online. Up here changing rooms in shops are closed at the moment so i have bought nothing new for months.

Then just stay naked

I do , but not at work or in Asda."

I would love to sit in the corner of your changing room, while you try on an array of "slacks"

I always try shoes and trainers on, yet I've never EVER in my whole adult life tried a pair of size 10's that don't fit.... ....I reckon the one day I finally decide to risk it they won't fit!

Other clothes, if it's a new style or brand then yes, if it's something I know will fit or where fit isn't critical then maybe not....

I try everything on, which can take time on occasion given the max items rule in some changing rooms.

I like to make sure there are no second trips for returns or exchanges.

For me I know I am 38 waist, 33 length in jeans however a 38 in different jeans cut from the same company can be massively baggy or make my jeans fall round my arse.

Also if I get an xl top, of its skinny fit I have to get xxl, as I fit skinny fit are like wearing gym Lycra

Like a lot of men I do not enjoy shopping of any kind. I food shop like a crazed squirrel being stalked by an eagle, who doesn't know where or why the nuts I want are so far apart.

Clothes shopping, it's like I'm buying drugs and the cops are patrolling, I wouldn't even try on shoes...I just want to be out of there and back onto the street with the rest of the men who have escaped
