Does bad dubbing put you off a film/show?

I was recommended to watch the show dark on Netflix and although the story is pretty weird and interesting, the more I watch the more I am put off by the terrible voice dubbing. I actually prefer subtitles.

What are your thoughts?

Agreed. The mouth needs to move in time with the sound otherwise it hurts my brain

We don't like dubbing in general, good or bad. We much prefer subtitles.

I used to love the old karate ones where it's so bad it's great

I’m partially deaf and have to use subtitles. It’s especially helpful for dubbed things, as I find it stops you looking at their lips and getting confused

Yes! I started watching Money Heist but I'm sure it's dubbed and I couldn't watch it.

See that’s funny. But still annoying.

I've watched District B13 several times as i think its a good movie, a French action movie, the version i have is dubbed in English and it doesnt bother me at all, if it was in French with English subs i'd have got bored after 10 mins as i find the subs are a distraction

I watched akira years ago the subtitles version and loved it decided to buy it years later not realising the damn Americans had dubbed over it and ruined it. But I have it now and still love the film.

Yes I get too distracted if it's dubbed, rather subtitles

Prefer subtitles and also enjoy World Cinema and Foreign TV shows (The Bridge, is on iPlayer well worth a watch) but watching ‘Monkey’ as a kid has allowed me to also watch dubbed films / tv and not be too bothered
