Shopping in PJ's, robes and slippers

I often see people shopping in their PJ's, robes or slippers.

Personally I think it shows that these people have no standards. And are extremely too bone idle to dress properly before leaving the house.

What's everyone else's opinion?

The only time I have ever left the house in pyjamas is either if it has specifically been required for charity or something or once when I had to go to hospital.

It was standard behaviour at my son's first primary school for parents (normally the mums) to come and drop off at the classroom door in PJs and slippers and to collect at 15.15 in the same PJs and slippers. I must say I found it a bit lazy.

Agreed, but and its a big but, some people might be ill and be alone with no one to help them, and in that situation, they deserve kindness and not judgement. Thing is how do you distunguish them from the scutty chavs who are just lazy? xx

But then again, I lived in Australia for a while where men would *sometimes* walk around supermarkets without shirts on and bare foot.

I was carted off in the middle of the night to A&E in a nightdress and slippers. Not sure why but I stuffed jeans and a t-shirt in my bag as the ambulance was about to set off.

Several hours later I had to get a train home wearing my slippers and no bra under my top.

Or seeing people in the luxury hotels sitting in the breakfast room in their skimpy pyjama shorts. Incidentally, they're the same ones complaining about the hotels..

I work in retail in Preston town centre. Occasionally a young Irish lady and her friend come in in pyjamas, dressing gown and slipper boots. What’s most odd, though, is that they are in full makeup inc eyebrows and eyelashes, foundation etc etc which must’ve taken ages to do. They also have immaculately done hair.

With that in mind my colleagues and I concluded that they do it to attract attention rather than because they’re lazy or short of time!

Nowt so funny as folk - as my granny used to say!

I won't even put the rubbish out in my dressing gown but that's just me.

I don't really understand why people don't just get dressed though. If they've slept in their pyjamas it's the same as going out in clothes they've slept in, if they haven't slept in them why not just put day clothes on? I always thought the point of slippers was to stop walking dirt from outdoor shoes into the house so why would you go out in them?

When it comes down to it, it doesn't really matter but I'm not a fan

It's not something I'd do but I don't judge those who do. They aren't harming anyone.

I've picked my son up late at night a few times in my pj's and never thought anything of it. I don't lack standards or class

I've driven home from clubs just wearing my silk PJ's over my strappy lingerie. Received the occasional look when I've stopped at services, and did once pop into an all night Tesco to pick up milk and chocolate...

But green silk, heels and rainbow hair is a slightly more sophisticated look than onesie with fluffy slippers...

Doesnt bother me in the slightest. You do you, I'll do me. I have, on occasion, nipped to the shops in my pjs but my pjs are usually a vest top and lounge pants. In the grand scheme of things, there are bigger worries for me x

A girl near me always does it but she looks immaculate. No different to people wearing sports leggings and lycra tops who have never ran or seen a gym. I saw a lady in red leggings and red lycra top the other day with a black surgical mask. She looked like a Royal Mail post box

If I saw mums in their pjs dropping their kids off to school I don’t judge them, at least they’re dropping their kids off to school and would have seen to them first before themselves.

My Own Little World

I don't even lounge about the house in my PJs, well not since the postie gave me a pitying look at 1pm when I answered the door to him after being up half the night with an ill kid.

I don't feel comfortable wandering about in clothes I have slept in, once I'm up I wash n dress in clean clothes, I feel grubby otherwise.

I sleep nude so actually have to put on pjs when I wake up which makes no sense. But when I first get up I’m not ready to start getting dressed for the day. I don’t go back to work till Thursday so I’m just lounging around!

I've been known to go to the supermarket in my slippers (otherwise fully dressed though, I hate pyjamas) if I'm having a bad mental health day or if my back's playing me up.

I don't overly care what other people are wearing, or what they think of what I'm wearing to be completely honest.

I'm going to be honest here...

I have on one or two occasions popped to the shop just over the road in my slippers, and maybe once or twice in some jammie bottoms that could be mistaken for lairy joggers.

And I have been shopping in Tesco at 1am with rollers in.

But generally speaking, I tend to dress myself appropriately before I leave the house.

I'm not about to go shopping in my eeyore jammies
