Getting my pan out; would you like me to make you a jam, marmalade, a chutney or pickle? What flavour? What autumnal spread do you like to cook up?

I can donate 20 buckets full of crab apples if you can think of anything to use them for. The tree has nice blossom in the spring but the fruit is bloody useless, even the wildlife don't touch it because it's so acid.

Crab apple jelly?"

Apparently crab apple jelly is mainly made with quinces and proper apples, then they throw one crab apple in and about 30 kilos of sugar to take away the taste of the crab apple...
