Would your quality of life be better or worse without one?

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Just different. Same as it was before they existed.

As with all tech advances* unwinding them would be an adjustment but we'd cope.

*I accept some might not see this example as an advance.

"Would your quality of life be better or worse without one? "

Would just be different, we adapt with each new technological advance

^^This^^ But then we'd still have PCs, laptops and you said without smartphones so we'd still have mobiles and pads. Actually the majority of the world don't have smartphones - in the world wide mobile market smartphones are a tiny percentage of it.

it's my only gadget. My life would probably be far less stressful without it, but I'd also be way more isolated and miss out on cute puppies doing even cuter stuff.

Information wouldn't be at my fingertips, but neither would the nasty world.

I was listening to Lex Fridman lately, discussing AI and went on to explain that as most people have smart phones at their fingertips, that it's almost an extension of ourselves and with being connected in the ways that we are, that technically we are already in midst of AI being a thing of reality

Cheshire

Going out for the afternoon a walk down a route I’ve never taken before, if I’m not sure of where I am, open Google maps. Whilst walking I’ll be listening to a podcast and on my way back I have a shopping list on my phone. If for whatever reason I’m not home by 4.30pm I can still watch the Community Shield on my phone.

Love it
