So may I make a suggestion? Look up to your rooftops and gutters. So much of my work is repairing damage to properties due to plantlife swamping their gutters or worse, creeping amidst the tiles oh and check out those scratching noises, could be a tree scratching at your tiles in a storm. Most take great care of the inside of the house, they take great care of their cars and gardens but so few look to the rooftops..the roof that keeps you warm n dry in the darker months. So there you are..a little professional advice. Now shortly Im off to tend to a roof which is a reproduction of the hanging gardens of Babylon!

Good call. We usually do this around October time but I think it'll be earlier this year. Have you noticed signs of autumn yet op? We were out in the forest in the week and noticed definite signs

Checked guttering. Glad I did, the moss build up was getting bad.

Whoever built my house have left a very small gap between the roof tiles and the guttering. It’s a right ball ache to get my big lands in at heigh. I’ve ordered a bigger ladder to make it easier.

Lots of leaves turning and green acorns down. Even a few horse chestnuts. We didn't used to take the kids collecting conkers until mid Sept

I get you on that..spent part of day tapping back some front slipped tiles and re doing his gutter as it was too tight for even my fingers...not much good like that

Horse chestnuts and beech often first to show down here..course its looking far more autumnal after the storm battering. Tbh I used to get rained off more in August than winter. Noted as a high possibility wet month.
