We had 9 friends only videos so know someone in our friends list stolen them and uploaded on a porn site! How can others steal videos that belong to user, I thought fabswingers has a security in place for that especially as they boast about our privacy is secure?

You can get browser extensions/apps which let you download videos.

That's pretty bad form, especially if they're from your friends list!

Are you selective when adding people?

Nobody wants mine....

Report to the website ask them to delete them. Doesn’t always work and can be uploaded again I guess

When these issues get posted, I wonder how many people as for a link because they secretly want to view themselves.

It's not just this site, it's impossible to stop people saving pics and vids on the Internet. It's unfair to blame fab for this. Someone on your list is a twat that's the issue.

Woa! Sorry to hear that

From a tech perspective, it's not difficult to 'steal' videos. Nothing is secure.

I think i need to start watermarking my media too

Fab does have in the T&Cs about saving pics which will cover videos. You can't actually stop people saving what you upload. Hence fab don't provide a false sense of security as it's all easily worked around. Any content you upload, you do so with the risk of someone saving it, just like any other site

There and to the left a bit

It's crap that it's happened but sadly it's the risk you take when you upload any pics to the internet - they're effectively in the public domain and therefore open to being "borrowed" - it's not the first time it's happened nor will it be the last - in my time here there's been cases of pics being used on the Hamster site and also T*mblr on a fairly wide scale - all you can do when it happens is take it up with the sites concerned and ask that they remove them and obviously if you know who borrowed them report them to Fab and if serious enough the police - pretty sure it's illegal to use others pics as your own.

Bang out of order! Makes you more anxious about showing ppl pics or vids and ruins it for genuine responsible folk who would be respectful with pic and vids. Hope you find out who it is and give them an earful.

Central

Any image or video is just data that your device receives and reassembles - it's there and can be viewed at that very moment or retrieved, saved and whatever the recipients want to do with it later. In this instance, they've obviously uploaded it elsewhere

Unfortunately we all have to acknowledge that whatever we let others see of us via the Internet, there's then no longer any great potential for privacy.

For websites hosting material that is yours and not their users, they could be in breach of data protection regulations, so should want to remove it from public view.

The uploader may want to dispute it but it's probably unlikely, when they realise they've been rumbled.

It's horrible when our trust is breached. I'd notify Fab admin with details, as they will want to investigate.

They can't give any guarantees of images protection, as the weaknesses lie within how the Internet works.

You don’t need to download videos to share them, you can just use the screen record function on your phone. This would be impossible for Fab to detect or police. The only truly safe thing would be to not share anything unless you’re happy for the world to potentially see it. It’s sad that people feel the need to do these things but there will always be someone who gets off on upsetting others.

If the website is hosted outside the UK, good luck with that even if it's within the EEA.

You'll be unlikely to even get a response to an email.
