"It’s always good to stop and think about our own and other people’s mental health. I do often wonder if this is a great environment for people struggling with mental health issues, but as has been said above the best thing is to talk about it to a trusted friend. " Doesn't have to be trusted friend. Just someone non judgmental. I've times in then past where I was suffering so much I alienated everyone... I had no one! Mental health can do that. Can be you're own worst enemy. Personally I think talking to someone who doesn't know you and you're past is better... at first then you can get it all out and turn to friends and family. Mayb3 a professional as they can guide you and give advice on how to express yourself in a way people will understand. Not many people who don't suffer with it understands what it's like. Told my mum and she said don't be so ridiculous it's all in your head. So be careful who you turn too. Professional is my advice. ![]()

"It’s always good to stop and think about our own and other people’s mental health. I do often wonder if this is a great environment for people struggling with mental health issues" I don't think it is. Certainly if I'm feeling low it can make me feel worse, so I take myself off for a few days to recharge "Not many people who don't suffer with it understands what it's like. Told my mum and she said don't be so ridiculous it's all in your head. So be careful who you turn too. Professional is my advice. ![]() That's what I'm hoping for, professional help. I've told a few friends I trust, and debated whether to tell brother or not, as he's the "Snap out of it" kind, but I did in the end because it explains my mood over the past few months. I've not told my mum, though, because she'll just worry about me more than she does anyway, and there's no point telling dad as he won't understand. But what's worse is he won't even try to understand ![]()

The professional route can be a scary one and sometimes people aren't ready to do that straight away. I think as long as people can speak to someone weather it's a friend or a professional, it makes a difference. I definitely found it easier to go to someone I trusted first.

"Thanks, OP, for raising this. To he honest, I've been struggling with mine recently and have gone from talking to a friend who's a mental health first aider, to my GP, to the local mental health authority and now am waiting for an assessment by the next level up from them.... :-/ I have good days and bad, and it can change by the minute, and I'm still learning about the issue and myself but I am also willing to chat to anyone that needs to ![]() ![]()

Doesn't have to be a professional as in a shrink. You're GP is a good one to go too if you have a long history with them. ![]() ![]()
