I don't mean meeting someone for sex a few times and then drifting into something more permanent. I mean start off looking for a relationship from the beginning? Does that happen - am I hoping for too much?

I just think if I was in love with someone I would want my body to be theirs only and vice versa. Nothing against swingers obviously, just my personal feelings

like all relationships it's good and bad. Can be jealousy if you get with someone who is that way inclined. Or you go too far tge other way and lose interest in each other. Lot of fun in the process though.

I think as long as you get along with the person, are of a similar mindset and have respect for each other... You can work through most things

We didn’t specifically look for a relationship on here, although SSS would have been more likely to as he was single for longer than me. But that’s what it ended up as and we’re getting married next Aug

So it certainly can happen, but I think maybe more common to just drift into it rather than ‘planned’ from the outset.

Totally agree, and it's all down to communication too. I met my chap, and then delved into the swinging world. I can't say it's made our relationship better as I can't see how it can be made better (I'm so lucky to be in a great relationship), nor has it made it worse - but it's certainly fun! We chat about everything, and love talking about (albeit limited) experiences we've had and the great people we've met xx

I've been on the scene for a long time (started as part of a couple), and while I agree that it's easier to discuss the subject, I have seen far too many people hurt and relationships ending because they weren't "strong" enough as a couple to deal with the emotions that swinging as a couple produces.

It does happen and you're definitely not expecting too much... I do agree with Lily's comment about taking things as they come and not putting pressure on yourself or others too quickly.

My fiance and I met at a swinging social and we took some time away once we realised we were serious (a good year and a bit) to focus on each other and to grow in our relationship. It wasn't until we were at the point where we were both secure and comfortable that we even considered coming back into this sort of thing (loathe to call it a lifestyle ). My other partner and I... well that's a different dynamic. We were lucky because lockdown happened and that gave us a chance to focus on each other and grow as a couple. Now we're in a place where we are both secure (apart from during my bloody hormone changes ) and I know that we won't change/our relationship won't nor is he looking to replace/find better.

I’ve been in the situation where I met someone as a casual basis and it turned into a relationship but although we went to events together we decided to wait till we established our relationship more before we invited others. It was the right thing to do as you need to be in a good secure relationship to invite others in to it.
