Not feeling sexy these days

Ugh....lockdown weight gain = I do not feel sexy at all. No dressing up in ages. I dont want to put something on & for my new lumps/bumps to squish out.

I was exercising during lockdown and joined a new gym as my own gym is undergoing a lockdown revamp and wont be back open until Oct.

I would ideally like to lose a stone in weight. Need to clean up my diet.

I am just not feeling very sexy at all lately. Just a phase.

Anyone else get like this?

MsD xx

Aw thanks. I am far too self-critical. But I do need to lose at least 7lbs. Even if I lost a few lbs now, I would feel better about myself.

Basically take all the food away from me and starve myself. Seriously....this is what I need to do. I lost 2 stone a few years ago due to extreme anxiety but I literally wasnt eating. That wasnt sustainable, obviously.

Or find food that has few calories that you can eat whenever you wish. What kind of things are you craving to eat?

Nothing in particular tbh. Just need to cut back on carbs and portion sizes. No biscuits in the house etc etc. I am fully aware of what I need to do, what to eat and I am a good cook. So its just a matter of doing it. Put my big girl pants on and do it!!!

Had major surgery a few years ago and I went back to gym few months after. Was killing me not to be active.

I’ve found that I have to be patient or I’ll end up injured. I know what you mean about the surgery and inactivity too. I was involved in quite a nasty accident last year.

Well mainly as my finances are really tight as the moment and I hadn't used it in a long time. I'm 52 now and since I hit 50 everything has gone to pot,my ability to not over snack and my enthusiasm for exercise.

I have learned to be somewhat patient and listen. No choice.

Have a referral to the pain management team to see if they can help with my surgery site and the level of discomfort I feel on a daily basis. Not can be done from a surgery point of view, just something I have to learn to cope with.

I'm spending some serious time in the gym before putting myself on the market again!

I think there's a link between exercise and feeling sexy. The exercise makes you feel better about yourself and that can knock on into feeling sexier.

I think we all feel like this at some point OP..Your certainly not alone.

I think sometimes we just tend to focus on other things rather than ourselves. For example, kids, families, work, personal issues..

Then you wake up one morning and just think shit what about me..

All I can say is whatever your planning on doing dont overload yourself..Pick something just one thing and focus on that. Then reward yourself with something for you. Be it a haircut, nails done, buying something to make you feel good..

Take a day and focus on you. Even a bath,a hair mask, face mask Paint your nails, listen to your favourite music..I think lockdown has really made us all feel like this at some point.. Chin up OP...Sending virtual hugs xx

Yes, I’ve not been able to exercise for a couple of years due to pain in my stomach and suspected hernia now again. I’ve found my stomach is a very odd shape and I’ve got a large bulge , it doesn’t look sexy at all x

I feel exactly the same. Before lockdown, I was at the gym, line dancing etc, meeting and feeling good about myself. Now, a stone heavier, no enthusiasm to do anything about it, don't want to risk the gym and don't even want to risk socials. I blame all the baking and the booze, nothing too do with my lack of willpower!

Yeah I'm feeling a bit bleurgh too and working on it. To be honest though, I tend to think getting dressed up and just going for it anyway is the best thing I can do to feel a bit better in the meantime. No one else really bothers as much about a few pounds as we all do on ourselves.
