Healing is aaaages, lots of people say there's never fully heal and it remains needing cleaned regularly.

The only real benefit for me is I like how they look? Didn't hurt too much to get it done. Have to be careful they don't get pulled out or knocked on things x

My g/f had both of hers done over a year ago but she made the mistake of changing the bar to quickly and it got infected, bled and was painful. It was her mistake because apparently it can take up to 6 months or even more to heal, but once it has properly healed apparently the sensation is amazing. She's having hers done again next week but this time, I've told her not to bugger about with them

Healing times varies from person to person depending on how quickly you would normally heal plus how you care for it as it is healing.

Benefits are increased nipple sensitivity although in some cases that can drop instead and some may not particularly like the increased sensitivity either.

You will catch it on things too, particularly if you have a bar and not a ring.

I did mine myself.

Positives: It makes for an interesting topic of conversation of sorts.

Negatives: It hurts like a bastard if you accidentally knock it.

Healing time; I seem to recall mine healing very quickly but try not to fiddle with it for the first few weeks
