Anybody tried it?

I've never been a great sleeper. I used to be able to catch up on sleep on days off but recently I've had trouble staying asleep as well as getting to sleep. If I go to bed early I either toss and turn or wake up in the early hours of the morning and can't get back to sleep. A guy at work recommended these dissolvable quick release melatonin tablets he takes and I was wondering if anyone had tried anything similar.

I found they made me jittery I couldn’t get on with them.

Oh damn. Though maybe I'll prefer jittery to feeling like a zombie .

People say lavender is good for sleep and you can get drops for your pillow

Also, reading your posts, your train, do you use prework out? That stuff used to really mess me up

I've been drinking this stuff with lavender, oats and ashwagandha that is supposed to help you sleep and it did for a bit but I still wake up .

Nope. Don't even drink caffeine much. Only very occasional tea and soft drinks if I go out.

Tried the tablets. Not soluble. Bought over the counter in the states. They worked really well for me for jet lag and general quality sleep. Only took them a few days at a time mind.

One of my children was on it for sleep disturbance. It was great for getting them over to sleep but 2 hours later they were wide awake. You can get supplements that are meant to work in the same way

Thanks for sharing your experience. My work friend said they helped him when he worked nights.

They are great as totally natural as Just the sleep hormone... but make sure you get some decent ones.

I've used them for years due to not producing my own melatonin.

Hmm. I've seen some that say slow release. Might give them a go.

Can’t recommend them at all. Similar to drinking Red Bull and vodka for me... I’m going to try the cbt oil.

The website my work friend gave me ships them from America. He said his GP recommended them. So hopefully good ones . I was thinking that about it being more natural sleep. I've had medication in the past that knocked me out so much I slept through a fire alarm but I still felt groggy all the time.

This might sound stupid but if I soak my feet for ten minutes then rub a foot cream into them I get the best sleep ever , worth a try

Manchester (she/her)

I was on prescription ones for awhile as an adjunct antidepressant. They worked well. Won't prescribe them in the UK.

Not exactly what you're asking, but melatonin does definitely help.

Read an interesting article about CBD drinks, one was Chamomile tea infused with CBD, it made me think could be worth trying.

On other hand might just end up needing to get up in the night instead

Friend tried it. They helped a bit, but only if he used them everyday. As soon as he stopped, the problem with sleep came back.

What about trying L-Tryptophan?

Your body uses it to make melatonin.

I bought a bottle of melatonin pills when I was in the US a while ago. Initially they helped me to find sleep, but it was only for a couple of hours, then I woke up with nightmares and bad dreams. I played with different doses, but gave up after more nightmares. I left the pills with a pharmacy. Try Valerian root if you have difficulties finding sleep or CBD oil to calm down. But if the sleep problems persist you should talk to your GP if there are underlying medical problems.

I don’t know if you have pets but I have used plug in Feliway to calm my cats. I slept with one in the bedroom once by mistake and slept through my alarm.

Worth trying if a friend has one you can borrow.

It can often be as simple as your mind being over active, this can be helped by really deep breathing and stretching, getting more oxygen into the bloodstream is surprisingly effective.
