Blur or oasis?

I was a blur fan. Loved the cheeky chappies and as my sister's was oasis made me like them even more.

There and to the left a bit

For two and a half albums Oasis were awesome.

For sheer inventiveness, longevity and being able to change their style Blur were awesome

So for me I'm calling Bluasis

Pulp were definitely up there though, as were Ocean Colour Scene, what Weller was doing at the time, even the likes of Suede and others

I was Blur at the time in the mid 90's. I've always had an aversion to popular things that everyone else is raving about until much later when the fuss has died down, so when Oasis were at their peak I wasn't really interested, it was a decade later when I started listening to them properly.

Blur were good, but their later albums tended to have a few good tracks with a dozen other weird experimental ones on there which I wasn't into.

"Blur or oasis?

I went to one of Blur’s earliest gigs at Colchester Uni in 1990, described as a “local band going places”. They didn’t do too badly did they? I preferred the “this is how it’s going to be” arrogance of Oasis though, probably connected to the die-hard punk within me
