OO thay get over 16 17 18/19 and girls more then boys turn from lovely to mouthy . And i am thinking did i not do my job right .

callum went through it between about 12-14 thats when i could understand what he was saying and it wasnt a grunt, he turned back into a human being by the time he left home at 16.

i found the opposite

My middle one was a nightmear when she was about 13, always skipping school, always getting into trouble and being bought home by the police, i could have killed her several times over from the ages of 13 to 15 ish, i did everything for her but she just liked going for the shock factor and the more i tried to help the more she rebelled so ended up calling social services myself to get help as i didnt want her ending up pregnant or on drugs etc even tho everyone else thought i was the worse mother ever for doing this im big enough to admit when i cant cope and i couldnt with her and i love her to much to see her throw her life away so i went for help

Shes now 18 and you couldnt wish for a nicer daughter

its not anything you have done wrong, i have £ girls my eldest two are only 11 months apart and my eldest has always been a darling, never a spot of trouble from her at all, and i bought them up the same some kids just go thro a rebellious phase some dont

I went to my bedroom when i was eleven and came out again at 16. Actually i was a walking nightmare, its only recently ive calmed down. My sister was a right swat, always goody two shoes, yet we where brought up the same. Now im so close to my mum its unbelievable.

Callum never got into trouble just typical boy stuff, but it was a gobby phase he went through and that was it. Although there where times i could have happily murdered him

My lad was a lovely polite talkative child when at junior school, I was convinced that the first day of high school they took them all aside and gave them an asshole injection!

From 12 to 16 he was a pain, but he has since joined the army when he left school and now he is the most respectful young adult, and he's made me very proud

callum never did anything bad just boy stuff, he was the only one in both schools he went to named callum. When i used to pick him up from junior school i would here the other kids saying callum did such and such at school today.

They lost him one afternoon, he was crouched on top of the water system which was next to the ceiling in the boys toilets lol

Mine must the exception - neither have ever been mouthy - only downside has been that as boys they have to be given a push to tidy up - do homework etc

Gobby phase we are in that my younger girl from 17/now 18 She called me and her dad a twat last night and for nothing .... i would never say things like that to my mum and dad never ....

I used to get it all the time, my middle one punched me in the face when she was going thro her phase, i had to walk out the house so i didnt smack her back and stay out till we had both calmed down, and that was because i told her she couldnt go out so she punched me, then stood there and told me if i hit her back she'd call child line lol

ive never laid a finger on any of my kids i dont believe on hitting children but when i look back over those years i have no idea how i managed not to hit her, i must have great self controll

Kids today have it too easy, everything is handed to them on a plate. Can't smack em, schools can't discipline them, do they know what they can get away with. There's no incentive to behave, be courteous or respectful. Only way you can attempt to punish a stroppy teen is by taking away the games consoles they seem to think is going to help them in later life. Old fuddy duddy at 41 I may be, but bring back the days of adventuring, making bows and arrows, using the farmers hay bales to make your fortress. Building dams across streams. Playing conkers knowing at some point it was going to smash your knuckles to pieces, but that was part of the fun!...Daring to pinch a few halfpenny sweets from the corner shop ( run by an elderly gentleman named Bert, as opposed to Gupta), being caught and having the local bobby, cuff you up the back of the head and thinking how much harder the next ones gonna be off your parents!

Nowadays, kids want to try kill people with weapons, burn down the farmers crops and polute streams. Want to hold up shops at gun/knifepoint and terrorise anyone who dares to stop them. All in the name of Technology and Evolution I'm told! Glad I won't be around to see too much if the chaos the next as well as the current generation will inflict on society. This country as have many others globally, has gone past the point of social decline, its now socially fucked!

Lads today think its cool and hard to carry weapons to intimidate others, in my day it was fight with your fists. Girls would rather send 5000 text messages slagging someone off, rather than have a good ol fashioned hairpulling.

And here endeth the first lesson.

I don't have kids so can only comment on being a complete arse meself from 14 - 17 (when I moved out, got a mortgage and had to grow up!) Gotta also say, my mam was a bit of a nightmare too as she had a drink problem so probably 6 of one, half a dozen of t'other - hasn't done me any harm tho, as the saying goes, "that which doesn't kill you, makes you stronger" so for those suffering through horrid teens, just remember "this too will end"

not always

like i said earlier i have two girls who are only 11 months apart, my eldest was always good, never any problem at all, the other was a nightmear

I bought them up the same so if its down to me how my kids turn out was a good mum who was unlucky with my younger one or a bad mum who was lucky with my eldest?

Sometimes you can rip your heart out for your kids and its still not good enough its not always the parents fault how their kids turn out, we can but try our best
