Who finds that they work out better when with a friend or ‘gym buddy’

I’ve started taking the whole gym thing seriously since they reopened but am finding things a bit boring and assume workouts are suffering as a result.

Doubles the time you have in the gym

Also they need to be reliable

I had a mate who was always late and it cheeses you off

Hadn’t thought off this and it’s something that would cheese me off something rotten!

The alternative would be a personal trainer but I wouldn’t dream of paying them lol

prefer to do it on my own as constantly let down in the past. And also when one stops going you tend to slack off yourself

It can do if they're the right person for you

If you’re just getting into it - I’d take a more experienced pal along to try show you the ropes, make sure you get the form down.

Once that’s mastered train alone!

- Less time

- Dont have to keep changing weight!!

- Less distractions! In the gym to work, not socialise.

But if you can’t self-motivate a friend is great to have to ensure you go consistently

No, I've broken all who tried to be my training partner.

Just train in my own.

Few who train with the weights I do so it becomes a chore constantly changing weights etc.

Yeah i like it and covid is helping to cut down the time , as we do our reps on . Our own and them swap machines instead of arsing about swapping weights etc... Perfect!

I had a friend who came with me once a week. She did cardio for the first half though and then joined me for the remainder of my workout as she wanted to learn some strength building stuff. I mostly prefer to work out alone but I also prefer to do many things alone like shopping or anything where I need to concentrate or get things done.
