In work, it's just the way it is isn't it. If I have a good manager then it's usually great and everything goes smoothly. I used to get annoyed by incompetent managers but over the years I've just got to the point where I'll question something once if it doesn't seem right to me but if they insist I just do it. Their problem if it fucks up. I don't get paid enough to keep fixing the mess of those paid more than me.

In my personal life, no. Advice is fine but don't tell others what to do. Obviously exceptions apply with things like laws and rules in certain places if you are the person employed to enforce them.

I do the same with managers. They are paid a damn sight more than me and don’t have a clue what they are doing. So when shit hits the fan it’s their fault.

When I was younger I made a rod for my own back with it. It's difficult as I work in healthcare so I'll still bend over backwards to fix a mess that will directly affect a patient. Going part time helped. My current manager is fantastic but her deputy is a total plonker.
