What do you have?

How much would you spend?

"Always spend money on shoes and beds- what you dont spend in one, you spend in the other!"

True or no?

I need a new one, this one is a bit errr fucked!

I sleep on a futon. Can't remember the price of the mattress. But I'm so used to it now if I sleep on a 'normal' mattress I get backache the next morning

Memory from one here, they take some getting used to, make ya feel very warm, prices vary but most have 20-25 year guarantee so should last a good while.

Latex pillowtop, Sealy. I'd get it again except for the few days in summer when it's too hot.

I was about to ask what an orthodox one was. Something very traditional, hard and rigid I was thinking

Mine is just an ikea one but it's pretty damn comfy. It's thicker than a normal mattress.

I have a memory foam layer in my current one, but not sure I could cope with the heat with full foam x

Water bed, most comfortable bed we've had. Spend about £1000 on a good bed, 8 hours a day for 10 years, it's worth it.

I have a Vispring Maristow king size which was £3,000 ish and worth every penny. No need to turn it and it's superb. I bought it in John Lewis and would highly recommend.

I was desperate for a mattress recently when I moved house but it was hard to find one because everywhere was sold out.. Even the display ones were taken from the beds. I ended up buying a single orthopaedic mattress for £90 and I like it but I'm going to put one of those new type of toppers on top with the gell in them because I like a high bed and so that it will keep it cool in the summer.

We've had 2 new ones in past 2 years made a grave mistake spending over £1k on it but it was far too firm so replaced it with a medium one at an extra £840.

Cheap they are not.
