Soon to do the course to become CP registered. I'm sure there are ex or current forces folk on here that are registered too. Is the course intense ? Looking forward to it, any advice appreciated.

It depends who crammed in the course is a lot have taken it though so don't expect to walk into a job in the UK. Lots of options abroad though, have a few mates in it now in cowboy country.

Yeah i'm open minded. Same as SIA now there are some rogue trainers looking to make a buck or two. At the end of the day though it's down to me and my persona as to making this work. A qualification is recognised and just the start of something which i'd happily seize and enjoy. Plenty of experience in industry and good rapport with showbiz types.

Thanks Archangel. Is your name Michael by any chance

I've been told Archangel Michaels looking out for having endured a diffult year so far.

It can be an intense course, it depends who it's with. It can be difficult getting a job in this field unless you want to risk your life in a dodgy country.

It helps if you're ex police or military.

Angus & Findhorn

I know a guy who completed the course/s in February, he seemed to sail thro it.

He left his existing job in January/February and is still waiting to go... there are some difficulties with his Visa to work abroad. He gets no salary till he does depart.

good luck with the course and all the best when you start the role.

Who knows

Was considering doing the CP course even though Im not ex mil or civ pol, but have 10 yrs plus experience. From asking various people and reading the specialised forums the quality of the oourse is all down to the training provider and its not all down to price. A lot of people say the market is swamped with new ops at the moment, could that be to keep work to themselves, who knows

Thanks to those that offered their angle so far and appreciate your kind words View.

Working abroad may be of interest in near future but i'd be looking to continue my roles at gigs/festivals at a higher level ideally. Picking Shane McGowan up and minding his drinks/medicine cabinet for example

Changing my name to Sting and 10 years with The Salvation Army was no help at all for me
