So after seeing quite a few threads that seem to pit one body type against the other, I decided to do something different.

We are all different. Different shapes, different sizes and that is what makes us beautiful. They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder but we need to be able to love ourselves too. That's not easy to do when society is constantly telling us we need to look a certain way to be classed as beautiful or sexy. Sexy is subjective, everyone will see sexy as something different and that's okay. If we were all the same the world would be a very boring place.

To back this up - as I can be just as bad for hating my body - I've changed my avatar to a pic of the bits I really don't like about me. It's completely unfiltered and raw for all to see, In the hope that some of you will join in and we can share our natural beauty with eachother.

I will do my best to reply to everyone but please support eachother too.

I am happy with the person i am and the body i am in . Its taken alot of years to get to feel like this .

Self love isn't a narcissist thing , its coming to terms with who you are

Be as compassionate with your self as you are with others

I have days when my body bothers me more than others - I accept it for what it is though and know for the most part there's not a lot I can do about it and also accept that to those that matter it's not my body that matters but the person inside it, and him I'm at peace with.

I will, when I can, be heading back to the gym to try and do something about my gut though

Skydrol, I genuinely have no idea why anyone would look at your scar and have any issues with it? However it happened, its just a scar. An old injury. Most people have scars of some sort.

I love this!

I recently posted a photo of Babygirl on her back, nipples in clamps and tummy in full view.

She hate her tits as she thinks they are to small and her tummy because of stretch marks.

The bits she hates are also my favourite and I loved seeing her like that.

That photo is rapidly becoming very fabled and is also the one we have probably received the most direct messages about.

We are all so critical of our bodies but remember, what we think is unattractive may well be the bits others like the most.

I once read an article about supermodels. (Old name for them so it was many many years ago!)

They said they had body issues too - always some part they wanted bigger or smaller or different.

That helped me, knowing that. Great thread OP. X

I (fem) spent dacades struggling with body image issues. I'd avoid mirrors, refuse to be photographed, hide my body under shapeless clothes.

It has taken a long time for me to learn to love the skin I'm in & not to constantly compare myself to others. Now, whilst there are undoubtedly things I would like to change, & I still have occasional moments of insecurity, I am generally comfortable with my body, can see beyond the flaws, and celebrate it.

It's a beautiful pic

and yes, agree completely about the bits we don't like are usually the parts others do. I'm very self conscious of my boobs and trying to build a better relationship with them but have a friend who absolutely adores them and all the bits I don't like.

I don't like how i look, I have scars from surgery, wobbly tummy/skin from putting a lot of weight on twice due to medication i had to take but I'm still here so count myself very lucky x

I have a picture of my stomach from LBC thread a while back. When I initially put it up I put it from private to public so many times. Would people see me differently because of my stomach etc etc.

But when speaking to someone else about it, they mentioned that I'm on the tipping point of being confident. And I guess that rang true, so I left it up. And I've not had one negative comment about that picture though I dislike it. Body confident I may not be but I'm really working towards accepting it

It’s taken me a long, long time to like my body with all it’s faults. Scars from surgeries, spongey. cellulite, wobbly bits and being married to someone who got enjoyment from body shaming. But, I love me now and that’s what’s important.

When I first joined a few years back I only did it so I could post anonymous nude pics and gauge whether anyone would actually be attracted to me. I was terrified people would see my floppy, scarred mum belly and run a mile! A few years down the line I still hate lots of bits of me, but I care soooooo much less and have even become a bit of an exhibitionist! I love looking at so many different bodies on here and quite often the bits I find hottest are the same bits they're insecure about, so I now think fuck it, some people will be into my dodgy parts too

Although I'm still not brave enough to display the ugly belly haha! I just figure by the time someone's there to see that in person I'll distract them so they don't notice it

At the ripe old age of 50 now its more about living with and loving what I do have.. Good and bad days we all have,but if we are healthy and happy ish then thats all that counts.. I think we always see the worst in ourselves and beat ourselves up about our bodies instead of making the most of them.

I am 6'3 and weigh about 23 stone. I am a 48-50" waste and have been for over ten years.

I spent years being bullied over my size.

Yes I'm fat but if you have an issue with that then it's your issue not mine. If you can't see beyond it then your missing out one meeting a loving and caring man.

I know this is a personal view please feel free to comment in the thread or private.

Scars are part of life. They tell the story of you and although they may not look nice they should be loved and cherished as they made you who you are today and we wouldn't have you any other way

Gianluca, some bits cannot be changed. The stretch marks, the saggy apron after childbirth, the loose skin etc. It doesn't go away with exercise or diet. Not everything can be fixed and maybe we shouldn't try to?

I used to hate my bum but with all the kind messages I've had from my short time on FAB i feel slightly happier to have changed my profile pic to show it.... im still not convinced its as great as some people tell me.... but at least i now have the courage to show it off!

I had years of (my now ex) husband telling me I was horrible to look at n no one would want me, I piled the weight in n hated myself. I stopped making any kind of effort as it was pointless, I left him a year ago, n now on my own journey of rebuilding myself back to the person I once was. Some days are good some are just ok luckily it’s rare to have a bad one now. I’m starting to get my confidence back and being on here has helped massively as I dare to put more pics up etc... I just need to get my ass in gear n take the plunge to start socialising again, n keep reminding myself how amazing I am xx
