west midlands safari park is a good family day out - been several times over the years and the kids still love it even tho they are now teenagers plus you get a free return visit or well you did last year

warwick castle is one of my favourite places to go and the kids can run ragged round the grounds, also they may have started doing the falcon displays by now, i also doubt you will have to pay for the little one.

There is the space centre in leicester but she might be a bit young.

There is also foxton locks which is nice if the weather is good.

some friends of mine with kids have been and said its a good day depending on the weather..

Only problem I had with Cadbury World is that when I took my kids there last year, I was sick of chocolate by the end of the day. Couldn't even stand the smell of it. Fun day otherwise.

There's also the Think Tank near Birmingham city centre(pretty cool place)

Id like to go to Warwick castle. Ive been to the space centre and loved the planetarium (if thats how its spelt) - think it would spin little one out though lol

just seen a video promo on youtube of it, and it looks really old and almost creepy. Doubt amber would be up for any of the rides they have, perhaps she is still a little too young for things like that

Ive never been to twinlakes since it was a theme park, when callum was about seven he got really upset cause they named one of their bulls callum and he thought they had named it after him.

They have got a family of meerkats there or did have. Should go back as its on my doorstep

One thing in common with nearly all the suggestions (and almost anything that can be suggested!) is the exhorbitant cost of a day out!

Try to decide what you want to do and look online for any offers for your chosen venue.. Alton Towers I think, would be a waste of money for you! You are never going to get value for money out of that with a very young child. Mind you, I wouldn't go there on principle! Way overpriced!

I would personally go to Warwick Castle. Plenty to amuse a child and plenty of safe "run (it) off" areas for the little dears..

ok im thinking West Midlands Safari (they have a cute little section for toddlers within the park, and also have penguin shows)

Twinlakes (indoor soft play centre, falconry centre, farm yard animals and various outdoor climbing frames, sandpits etc)

Warwick Castle - just cos i want to go, and little one should be knackered by the end of it all ... haha
