"I remember a black actor Gary McDonald who went onto to EastEnders been in one of the first series if not the pilot another black actor who everyone called recall because of his outstanding memory John Alford was also in it the actors who couldn’t then get any work because was found to be dealing drugs he was called tony the 1st black actor john halford I remember him" . Gary McDonald starred in London’s Burning the movie in 1986 the film partly based around the Tottenham Broadwater Farm riots in the 1980’s I think this was the pilot film that led to the series.Gary’s character was killed of in the film where some bricks are dropped on him from a great height as he is trying to stop the rioting.Another actor who played in the series was Glen Murphy who was into boxing in real life he fought future world champion Dennis Andris as a amateur

"Bayleaf was my favourite but vaseline was funny the scrapes he got into with his women and sick note was kinda funny too with his amateur dramatics in and out of the fire station " Vaseline was who I was thinking of when I said Charisma was the character I loved. Vaseline, so called because he was slippery. Charisma,so called because he had none. I remember now.
