Stop moaning about winks !

Liverpool

I've noticed an increasing moan on peoples profiles saying dont bother just winking and they will be deleted etc, these people should get a grip and stop thinking there so special !

A wink is a good introduction to finding out if the other party is interested or not, if they wink back then you can start to mail and talk. I've spent hours writing friendly / polite messages only for them to be deleted without the manners of even a thanks but no thanks ( snotty people ) rant over, feel much better now haha

A wink to someone that states they don't like them is not a way to find out if they're interested

Because they won't be

So that was a rant about a moan about the winkers that wink ?

I've confused myself now

Might I suggest a prozac and a lie down in a darkened room for half an hour

But, but, but, but Miss !

I thought all that changed if you ignored the fact they didn't react to the first 16 ?

The 17th is 'the killer wink'

No no no.....you must understand! He is saying you WILL accept winks, no question, no argument. He finds it a wonderful way of expressing interest. I presume because a) it requires no effort whatsoever. b) you don't have to type. c) you can be completely illiterate as the words are filled in for you.

See? It's a marvellous way to communicate! Now be told!

Or, you can do what I've done, and block the fool, just in case he ever moves into my part of the country!

How about a greyed out box for winks?

Tick if you want and it would save having to winge /gripe in your profile.

Can't be that difficult to include and your responsibility to tick if you want winks

Winks should be deleted from the system. What on earth are they for? Bit like a lazy person's copy / paste.

If someone is of interest to you then write a carefully thought out message referring where possible to their own profile. If they don't reply then jog on to someone else. Cos if a mice message doesn't work a lazy half arsed Wink certainly won't.

As you can guess I never use them!

Sadly some of us may remember giving and receiving a wink across a busy bar or club or just out in the street.

You may see that person over a few/many days and it may lead to a wink and then a hello etc etc.

Don't tell me you've never been attracted whilst out and given it a few seconds before turning round to see if they do too!

Or do you go straight up to someone because you like the look of them and assume its reciprocated?

Winks do no harm what so ever! I have no objection to receiving them and I will either wink back, send a polite thanks or thanks but no thanks..

I wouldn't get all bent out of shape they way some do. As far as I was aware that if your sex is not selected on a profile you can't send a message or a wink.

Maybe those who complain should set their profs up correctly, now that would be refreshing!

I do realise that some will want contact but no winks so just go to your winks page and block all and then delete or simply ignore, how hard is it.

I never answer winks and never wink at anyone. They are pointless. I also usually answer any mail unless it's a stupid message.

Winks don't bother me at all

Ive met some great people on the strength of a wink,I think they're harmless ways of flirting, but understand that some people hate them,I just find them easy to ignore without feeling guilty about it and if I like the profile ill explore a little further to see what they're all about

Now friends requests without even speaking do my nut in

and winks accompanied by friend requests. like it was a passport or something

don't mind the winks at all though, good way for someone to invite you to look and see if you like.

We like winks, its a cheeky way to say hello, like smiling at someone in a club.

Its a way to intice a response?

Though once, we winked at someone on here. The mail that they sent to us, the anger it conveyed was a little shocking for us tbh.

But hey, each to their own x

so your side goes.... hmmm.... so much for discussion then...

heres the other side of winks....

all that winks tell me personally is that you managed to find the wink button... nothing more...

doesn't tell me if you read the profile..

doesn't give me a reason to meet somoene....

doesn't show any personality...

I don't think it is one up from a copy/paste... because at least the copy/paste shows a minimum of effort...

I ignore them.. that is my right to do, just as some use them.... and bully for them....

All valid reasons not to like winks....

Know tell

us that you've never ever winked at someone in your vanilla life or at a swing club. Could be a raised brow or a smile when you've caught their eye or they've caught yours?

You know nothing about them do you.

You dont even know if you speak the same language.

Depending on the response you get you or they take the next step,

What is probably the most common expression between people that promotes a positive response?

I think it's a smile, well we dont have one of those as a means of first contact but we do have winks.

I suppose some will get arsey when someone who they don't know smiles at them too.

Sad really.

But they have every right to be arsey
