I don’t know why people get so angry about receiving a wink. I think it’s a nice way to see if they’re interested. I don’t mind receiving them but would respect their wishes.

I mention not to bother winking but it's not because it's offensive or anything, I just don't look at them so someone might think they've shown interest and I'm not responding, when in fact I don't even know they have. Think if winking is both parties system it works well, but a lot don't check them so it's just like shouting into the wind in that case. Same with friend requests unless I know they're sending one.

Makes me laugh when they make a massive deal out of not looking at winks on their profiles, it's literally a button press on the main page, hardly some huge inconvenience! They might miss out on someone they would like showing a bit of interest but doesn't know what their jumping through hoops criteria is for an opening message
