My gf and mum agree that Im a one off but they wouldn t have me any other way..ah bless

Another stated Im as mad as a box of frogs and completely unique

And finally another..my sounds compadre says Im one crazy fkin animal that thinks deep but dances to the sound of the drum.

Now whether its good or bad I ve shared this with you I don t know or care but whatabout you?

I learned one thing during my time in the wastelands...care not the thoughts of others..if it pleases you then carry one..it helps that I can count loved ones on one hand minus three fingers lolol

Apparently,my resting face gave that impression.

Oh i dont need to ask they tell me anyways but then admittedly it is only a very very small number of people and I have had truly crazy times in their company ...but the few that know me know I dont give a rats ass what they think..i lived a life manipulated in past times but then I found me..so lets just pull the ripcord and rock n roll..cos my party stops at a wooden box and looking down on the two gathered I dont wanna hear the usual funeral stuff...i wanna hear endless hysteria brought on by memories..now thats a life!! IMO

My work colleagues and gaming groups all think I'm quiet, reserved and rather antisocial, with a dry, sarcastic sense of humour that rears its head occasionally.

I used to care a lot what others thought of me, I don’t worry so much now, I think I probably come off as a bit aloof and uninterested probably online and in person now because I’m not constantly trying to please everyone. If you like me great! If not, I won’t lose any sleep over it

I think that people think that they are perceived in a particular way because sometimes they want to be or sometimes they are afraid/worried their negative traits are seen as their overall.

As far as how others see me, I'm not sure. It varies a lot, I've heard all sorts said about me. Some utter bollocks, some less so. I'd be lying if I said it doesn't matter to me how I am - for example at work it very much does matter how I am seen. I care less about random folk on fab who don't care to get to know me but I don't like the feeling of being actively disliked when I know it's not true. Not that it keeps me awake, more I'm a sensitive soul.

If you don't know me that well it will be quiet, reserved, maybe a bit shy, nervous and unsure.

If you get to know me it can be the above to loud, talkative, funny, imaginative.

Some see me as weird, odd and strange

Family would add in anti-social (I prefer asocial), kind, loving patient, perceptive, moody and intelligent.

Some might say loyal.

I like to see myself as self-contained. I can get nervous and unsure and doubting, I am not sociable. Thoughtful, imaginative, an introvert's introvert, introspective.

To everyone, its been interesting reading. Perception is an opinion of those looking on at best. At worst it s an opinion based on what they ve heard from others. Alas though we, as individuals, often create that perception from what we believe to be an expectation of those around. People have opinions on non shirt wearing males around public places but theres no law against it and it causes no harm; it is thought nail varnish and make up is a womans sole right by many, or that a woman shouldn t be natural in her look..with society comes the rules of the herd...well I say BE YOU!! Sod everyone else and never ever change for someone else if you are happy, truly happy. But heres the thing...take time out every so often to slow down or stop and reflect upon oneself and who you are because often peoples expectations are sneaky lil buggers and without you realising,you ve been swallowed up. I am lucky as this is my only contact online with people and in my daily life I have my gf...and Im rarely ever seen in built up areas of any kind where the masses perpetuate their ideas and fashions etc. So, be kind to yourself, listen only to your own thought and desires and follow them as best you can. Obviously if you have a family setting up a full dungeon and orgys in the family home will be awkward..you know what I mean...x

If you were to aks family and loved ones, they would most likely say things along the lines of - Smart arse, clumsy, wicked humour, kind and patience of a Saint.

So basically, a useless know it all who thinks he's funny, and can wait a long time for this and that and be kind to people.

I'm not sure about that. If lots of people told me I'm perceived as horribly unkind I would probably consider my actions. But usually others perceptions are so skewed by their own insecurities, experiences and prejudices and how you project yourself in different situations that as long as the people you love get you, others perceptions aren't useful.

That about sums me up too (well apart from the stone hearted bitch thing of course ) - people will find me as they find me, all I can do is be the authentic me and leave others to judge and come to their own conclusions about me.

Here is a good example of the range of perceptions applied to me - I've been called everything from oracle and wise man of the forums to a know it all and a bully.

Personally I don't think I'm any of those things, but if they are how people perceive me then so be it - unless people offer compelling reasons for me to think I need to change, I'll just carry on being me.
