The Great Home Gym Purge

So, I hate the gym. I hardly ever go even though the work ones are all free as they’re always rammed and I’m antisocial. Tend to just do other stuff at home or out and about. Like Pizza and beer curls.

I am however aware that loads of people have bought free weights/home stuff over lockdown, and I’m seeing these are starting to appear second on Facebook/eBay etc at what seems like pretty good prices.

Are the cheaper looking plastic and sand weights/kettle bells worth it? Should I look for an all metal set? Anyone else got a shopping list at the ready and hoping for some bargains?

I buy the plastic ones with sand in, then I empty the sand out and continue to lay my patio.

Recycling at its best.

Depends entirely on what you are looking for out of them.

If you're looking to do some serious powerlifting/competition prep then no, they're fairly useless.

If you are just looking to get in shape then they are as good as any other so long as theres enough there to take you where you need to go.

I personally got rid of all of my home gym stuff because i realised that i needed the "occasion" of going to the gym in order to actually do it. Home gym gear just collects dust for me. But if you have the self discipline for it, its a great idea.

Mostly just for general staying in shape. I have no desire to be Eddie Hall, my knees would never cope.

Thanks for the thoughts!
