Tough as old boots..

Drives me insane when this happens. Cooked a roast beef dinner(silverside) not over cooked. Had my little bubble round to enjoy it with Yorkshire puddings, veg and potatoes for it to be like rubber.

Have you ever taken a tough bit of meat back to the shop..??

My daughter said I should but to be fair, they dont know its going to be tough do they...(bought from sainsburys)

Really spoilt it as my onion gravy was to die for.....

I find that incredibly disappointing, you'd expect silverside to be perfect.

I've never taken meat back though. Go on....I dare you!

Whoah! I'd consider taking it back for that price but not sure if I would. Is there some sort of product promise on the wrapper like "satisfaction guaranteed or your money back"?

Use local butcher... you'll notice the difference.

Evesham

My mum used to have this problem, also with Sainsbury's and would frequently take it back. I too have had poor quality beef from there.

I do a roast every Sunday and have found the consistently best silver/topside joints to be from Aldi with Lidl being the worst.

I'm sure with this being a swingers forum I ought to put some sort of corny innuendo in at this point but I'm lacking inspiration - if only we had been talking about pork or chicken with stuffing - far more opportunities with those.

They'll buy something in that's not so good sometimes without knowing consider how much they buy, it's possible even the farmer didn't, if you complain they may refund you, if not take it onboard and it becomes your decision I guess

Ah that is annoying OP.

Email them or ring them with your receipt number and they will probably automatically refund you.

Say you're disappointed, not up to usual standard , family round, spoiled dinner etc.

I've complained a couple of times over lock down (Morrisons/Tesco) and they've refunded with no quibble.
