I did (paul) and kind of fell into it by being approached on a night out. That led to being introduced to others and soon realised that it was pretty widespread. Much prefer the human interaction which is why we go to the club. Like with most interactions the Internet dehumanises.

Busier and mostly it was house parties anyway. The Internet brings wide choice which thins things out. As I was in a local circle and we all got to know each plus we were always inviting new people in it was never a dull moment.

specialist magazines and the postal service, you had to write a letter to the magazines PO box, they then saved them for a few days and then (if there was more than one letter) put tham all in a large brown envelope and post them to whoever it was who paid them for the advert .... And then .... if it was you who had paid and got the letters, you would then write back to who you fancied IF they had thought to put their address in the letter (or phone number) it was a long process lol .... Don't remember anything like a club back then, mostly house parties.

I was chairman of a football club with over twenty teams therefore it involved a lot of mothers that became close friends and my present wife was one of them.!!
