I know it looks like all of the news is going back around with the Caroline Flack situation he died in circumstances that no one should have died from, people not being kind people being idiots.. I've always said that there is no need to be nasty whatsoever

My opinion on the whole Caroline Flack debacle is usually unpopular so I'll keep it to myself.I agree with you though, kindness costs nothing and as someone who struggles with mental health issues I can vouch that a little kindness will more often than not go a very long way.

My 27yr old Son ended his life through depression 3 weeks ago.

Though he had turned to drugs in a futile attempt to lessen his burden.

The sadness is compounded by his apparent suicide which was achieved by not injecting himself with insulin as like me he was a type 1 diabetic.

I tried my best to avoid this outcome and always listened with good advice and support.

I would urge anyone who thinks they may be going through depression to talk about it with friends, family and professionals alike. The key to salvation is within yourself and if you cant find your way to it theres someone out there who will help you.

So terribly sad

I hope your son has now found some peace.

It's so difficult to live with a mind that is not at peace with its self. Its exhausting both physically and mentally.

My heart goes out to you

Thank you T, he fell into ketoacidosis through not taking his insulin and the strain on his heart was too much.

He was found barely conscious but surrounded by pictures of me and himself.

He suffered a heart attack in the ambulance and they revived him but at hospital his final one proved too much. Drugs doubtless played their part but a combination of that and his depression was what killed his spirit. I'm proud of him none the less...

The Town by The Cross

There is never a need for intentional unkindness. Respect and kindness are what makes the world go round.

Celebrities lives, of which we never know the true ins and outs, don't need to be used to support the idea that meanness kills or kindness nurtures.

Looking to blame people outside of the person suffering mental health just removes the focus from mental health.

Dude my sympathies... not even trying to compare.. but my brother on law took his life after years of depression and agoraphobia. All the years after we have all searched for questions on what we could have done better.

It's a tough world when you feel at the lowest point and nowhere enough help out there for those in need.

Hope you are ok and happy to chat if you need to just talk.. it's so hard to come to terms with.

Kids my kids have saved me and are the reason I'm alive. #fuckdepression.

Unfortunately some dont speak out as they fear they wont be believed or taken seriously or that others may not understand why they are suffering

I've always said pretty much every single day but I will always do mental awareness every day because it is all about being kind to each other even though we are on a sex site I've always said it's better to be kind than to be Cold Hearted

my prayers go out to you and your family.. depression is real... and these unkind people online should really grow up and think twice before they say something nasty as they don't know the fragility of that person

God bless xx

There's too many people wanting to make themselves feel better by spreading unkind words to people they don't know as they think they're an easy target. Best to just report the trolls

Some words on here by a regular poster resonates with me.

I confess I've been guilty of some eye rolling with some comments of posters. And having come from a particularly unforgiving environment, I've become conditioned....but sometimes not everyone is as emotionally rugged or resilient as you may think. There's times to leave your own standards at the door, and appreciate others aren't in the same place as you

the abyss

If anyone is every struggle its important to know that asking/seeking out help does not make you week! It means you are strong enough to know you need it.

There are so many good services out there that people just don't know about. One is SHOUT, it's a text service where you are put through to a trained Crisis worker by text message - I know some people find it too hard or too big a step to say the words out loud over the phone so this can be hugely helpful.

Sending hugs and healing to anyone who needs it

I've been struggling with depression, which got a hell of a lot worse during lockdown.

I made the decision to reach out on the forums and people were amazing and I was completely humbled.

I tried to pay that forward, posting the rainbow whenever I was online and joined positivity topics on here.

It's still a struggle at times, but I'm well away from the dark place I was in.

There are some truly kind and amazing people here.

If anyone ever wants to talk, I'm always here to listen.

Much love x

Mental health is a ****. I suffer with it still. Drove me to some dark dark places. Some i still wont talk about now even with the therapist. Ive drank, used prescription meds and sex all as an antidepressant and it really ruined me, even tried to take my own life several times and failed, spent years sleeping with a knife under my pillow, ive hurt people including family and friends all because of ptsd.

My biggest and most open advice to anyone is get talking... Theres alot of way to do it, phone, text, in person, gp, helpline, friends, family, some random off here whos offering help.... Just talk and let it out and be honest about it too. People cant help or understand if they dont know the full depth of it all.

My pm is always an open door to anyone who just wants to chat because they are struggling. X
