Ouuuuccccchhhhh. Anyone else ever had them? It's only just calmed down enough to be bearable after a couple of hours. It felt like my eye socket, cheekbone and upper jaw were going to explode out of my face!!

I've only just had my dinner as I had to just go and hide in bed and hold my head

My ex ended up in hospital with them for three days. It was frightening for both of us as she was in immense pain. I’ve never been so worried about a partner.

Try keeping a gel cool eye mask in the fridge door. That will help

Cluster, migraine, postural, occular, thunder clap, you name them I've had them

Can I ask, what's your favored sleeping position? I read about front sleeping being bad for causing headaches, which I did, I now sleep on my side and I have significantly less clusters. Just a thought.

They are incredibly painful to the point of bashing your head on things in frustration. I feel your pain. I hope you feel better soon. X

I sleep on my side but thank you anyway.

I honestly felt like it. I was squeezing my head like I was trying to hold it together . It felt like I lost normal sensation and movement in that side of my face at the time. It was really freaky!

Yes I get them when the weather turns. Only think that helps is Novocaine and paracetamol taken together. Hope you feel better soon.

Not specifically for headaches, but Superdrug do a hydrating facial spray. I put it in the fridge when it's warm.

Something like that would be refreshing for this heat!

Oh you poor thing, i really feel for you

I get them when I'm tired or stressed .... Always feels like a red hot poker has been pushed into my eye, or I've been shot through the eye

Takes a few days for it go..

Tell tale sign is massaging my temple the day before ... Which i never twig at the time

I use paracetamol and try to lie down in a cool, darkened room. Drink lots of water and cool your blood / head / neck

I get them occasionally! And I feel like my head is going to explode. I also get migraines once or twice a week. I find the best thing is Nurofen, water and a dark room.

I've heard masturbation is meant to help but I'm never in the mood to flick my bean when I feel like I'm dying.

If you diagnosed with cluster headaches then you must press your doctors for high flow oxygen.

It is a miracle.

Failing that look in to NATURAL tryptamines for cluster headaches...

first hand experience here.

I (Mr) have been a sufferer for 18 years. The patterns do change over time and mine have moved from 3 weeks every 3 months to a 3 month period every 3 years - always starting in April. Clusters are a horrendous experience and I struggled for years with getting any meaningful help. However, there is light at the end of the tunnel and triptans are the only way to alleviate my clusters when they are active. As a previous poster mentioned, many people respond well to oxygen delivered through a specific respirator this has proven to be successful for some sufferers with the benefit of having few or no side effects. Unfortunately, oxygen did not work for me at all. Over the last few years I have tried different types of Sumatriptan from tablets which were ineffective, inhalers which did work but were intermittent in effectiveness through to a self injection which has proven to be a life saver. No form of pain killers or lying in a dark room made any difference for me at all but the injections generally work within 5 to 10 minutes. However, most GPs are only relatively familiar with cluster headaches and are reticent to give out the injection pens due to the cost. I suggest you go pre armed with information on treatments as this will help the GP understand the need for appropriate medication. If you haven’t already looked at it, go to the ouch.org site which has a lot of useful information. If you have any specific questions please feel free to pm.

I suffer from chronic pain in my shoulders, arms and hands. Sometimes other parts of the body so I do get headaches quite often but they take my mind off the other pain in my body.

I've been suffering from chronic cluster headaches since I was 9 years old, so I've been in and out of remission with this absolutely awful condition for over 30 years. I'm outpatient at the National Neurology Hospital in London and see the top consultants in the UK. I posted a video of the last few minutes of an attack on YouTube, I've had over 28k people see it, a company called Vice bought the copyright of it and its now been seen by over 4 million people. And from people who have seen it, I've actually helped people. Lacey Red understandably you have blocked men from messaging you, but if you fancy a chat please get in touch, and actually that goes for anyone who is suffering. Check out the website OUCH

I have Cluster Headache too, since my mid twenties.

I have Oxygen with a non rebreather mask and if that doesn't work I have Sumatriptan Injections.

OUCH UK and Cluster Headaches.com were a MASSIVE help with their support.

Please don't suffer alone, there is help out there x.

My doctor has changed my migraine medication.

I'm on day 8 of at least 1 migraine a day. Sumatriptan isn't helping today either
