Curvy ladies, where do you buy your gym gear?

I joined the gym 2 days before COVID closed them down. I'm back now and actually quite enjoying it despite being horrendously unfit... I look forward to the hour I get to escape my house But I currently only have 1 pair of leggings (technically 2 but the second pair just constantly slip down and drive me mad so I don't wear those). I can't be washing them after every single gym session so I need some more. Am flummoxed by the choice! The pair I don't wear are Lucy Locket Loves so please don't suggest there.

Also I don't fancy spending £30 on one pair when I'm hoping they'll be too big soon so the cheaper the better. I tried Tesco ones, they may as well have been invisible for all they covered, totally see through! Am looking at Yours Clothing, George and ASOS at the mo, can anyone tell me if any of the leggings these places sell are any good? I don't fancy showing the people working out behind me what patterned knickers I'm wearing

I've had no see through issues with tesco. Asda do some nice bits plus their zip front sports bra are fantastic and less than a tenner.

Aldi/lidl stuff can be good but then to only go up to a 16/18.

Lusque on Instagram have lovely hits as well.

You don't have to spend a fortune on gym kit.

Boohoo and simply be for bottoms and for tops I just wear old t shirts. Although if I'm at home I just workout in my underwear lol

Loads of places, my main issue is getting tops as I'm very busty and I hate baggy stuff when I'm training so I usually get mens vest tops

I have had some expensive leggings from running companies which are great for compression but I have also bought cheap leggings from matalan which have been brilliant for regular training.

I tend to avoid the cotton (t shirt) type fabric leggings and go for lycra, for comfort and they wash great.

I also like the high waisted leggings as they compliment my physique and feel comfortable to work out.

As for tops I wear t shirts from races I have entered and I like to buy New Balance running tops as I like the breathable material, shape, colours and they was like a rag.

Her x

Decathlon are very good... And if you have a Nike outlet they are very good value

?

I have some from New Look that always stay up and wash really well...but I like my Lucy Locket Loves ones so they might not suit you if you don't like those.

I bought some from Amazon. IUGA is the make. They are absolutely fantastic. Grt quality, really comfortable, stay up, not see through at all.

Just be careful to check the sizing before you order as they run small fitting.

I have bought 2 pairs as I love them.

Tikiboo leggings are amazing and are definitely squat proof.

They're not cheap at £36 a pair but they hold their value really well. If you wear them for a few months and they're in good condition you'd get £30+ for them on resale. Some of the more sought after ones sell for triple that!

Matalan. Fit great and stay up. Cheap, wash well and last for ages.

"I bought mine in matalan and they have been great, absolutely no complaints "

I was going to recommend Matalan. They've got some great gym kit! I (before covid and hopefully after!) use mine for full contact martial arts classes and no amount of grappling or rolling around on the floor will move them

Sports direct. My biggest issue is finding leggings that bit my bum but don’t slip down my waist.

Tikiboo are awesome as they are high waisted and have a drawstring also.

Primark have really nice sports leggings, mega stretchy but they hold you in nicely too. Think they’re about £8 a pair xx

lucy locket loves has some amazing stuff, their leggings do not move during gym classes , nothing more annoying than having to keep pulling them up

See, I have Lucy Locket ones. I followed their advice about sizing down if you're between and they're a load of crap! Constantly slipping down and I'm having to tug them up

Will look at Matalan, it has a lot of votes! Thanks

Okay so little update, I ordered some Matalan leggings and holy shit, I'm so glad I did! They seem firmer than my Lucy Locket ones, they actually hold my cellulite in place and give me a nice shape whereas my LLL ones look like they've been spray painted on because they're not supportive like this at all. Thanks so much to everyone who suggested Matalan!!

Nike and Reebok always fit me well and can withstand some fair punishment. Otherwise Decathlon are good for cheaper end. Superdry lycra pants are good too.
