From things such as love@lycos to bebo at the beginning, social networking as really came on to be one of the most popular things in global society. Pretty much everyone has a Facebook, it creates new friendships and wrecks long standing relationships.

Where do you stand on social networking? Which do you use? If you avoid them, what is it you hate most?

We both have Facebook but mostly just to back up our pics Incase the laptops die, mr has a twitter for his football etc and we have a joint twitter for our naughty updates.

I use fb and twitter for promotional stuff and to keep up to date with people, music and stuff but don't use it for personal/private things.

I have a RAID-1 NAS for my photos. It is not possible to back up the amount of photos I have on any other medium.

I primarily use Facebook, but also have a Twitter account which I mainly use to _iew public transport service tweets.

I take it at face value and never put anything on there that I don't want publicised.

It can be a bit of fun, but if you are careless about what you say, it can also be destructive.

I have just jacked in Facebook as I got fed up with it's constant march towards becoming the biggest advertising channel on the planet. Won't go near Twitter due to the wankers on there. Even dear old Fab is a bit like 'Facebook with cocks/tits' sometimes.

social networks do fuck all to destroy social life...its people that do that.

they are no different from TV,radios etc etc..just another medium

I joined Facebook a couple of years ago to see photos a mate had uploaded after a big weekend a crowd of us had together.

I pop in now and then to see friends updates but don't use it often.

It's handy to see who's going to what events.

I use FB to advertise my business, I shamelessly nick jokes off here and other places to post on it, and I can barely live without knowing what a vague aquaintance had for their tea.....also love the ranty "and some people (you know who you are) are just so up themselves they think their own shit don't smell...." posts - or is that the forums on occasion
