"So glad to read this! Have you tried a raw diet for him? My vet advised against that for his breed ages ago so I never did " It can be tricky to get the right balance for different breeds with it but it could work if he's that picky. Saying that, mine won't eat a raw diet. Although right now she's not eating much of anything because she's grumpy

"So glad to read this! Have you tried a raw diet for him? My vet advised against that for his breed ages ago so I never Nothing wrong with raw feed diet. Many vets will sway you (being sponsored by dog food places) I have kept German Shepherds all my life and all have been in a BARF diet. My vet knows better than to try and dissuade me If you want advice on feeding raw then message me. I" I did try it briefly a while back , he turns his nose up at it and gives me the " what the fuck is this shite " look. Part of the problem is too many treats which is my fault I know

Part of the problem is too many treats which is my fault I know " What type of raw was it? I feel Paleo Ridge over Natures Menu, as that can be watery. Landywoods is a good supplier. And I'll sometimes go to the big raw supermarket on the Wirral to stock up My dog has chicken portions, beef heart (whole) lamb, turkey, trachea and duck necks as treats and marrowbones. I do give him kibble now and again. Eden or Millies Wolfheart. It's actually not expensive to feed BARF either, people have a misconception about raw being expensive. My dog's food costs around £20 a month to buy and he is a 50kg German Shepherd

Cheap beef cuts and loads of chicken ( I was told never to use pork ) . He didnt wanna know so I've abandoned the idea long ago . I'm amazed you can feed a German Shepherd that cheaply, well done

Saying that it didn't include his kibble which costs £60 but lasts 3 months or so, because I buy the high grade you feed less of it.

"Soak dry food in boiled water to soften. Once cooled mash in a small amount of chopped chicken. That is how i got my dog to eat her dried food so worth a try." Was just about to suggest the same! You could also try one of those interactive bowls, so it's like a game for him, might raise some interest, and he wouldn't notice a slightly smaller portion if he's having to work for it

"Hey Grump, great news. What about about feeding Pooch cottage cheese and raw eggs? My girls been on a raw diet for nearly 11 years now and she adores both of these..." He doesnt like raw eggs . He loves Scrambled Egg though as its warm . For some reason he prefers his chicken , beef , rice or eggs warm

"Have you tried vegetables too? Mine refuses to eat raw full time, he'll have the occasional bone or trotter, but I mix fresh vegetables in with every meal, and he also has natural treats like dried fish, or I make liver cake and banana peanut butter balls which he loves " Vegetables,My Pooch . Tried it , he virtually disowned me . He only likes 2 or 3 types of dog food . I did say hes a fussy fucker

"A fair few of you wanted to know about the results of my trip to the vets with Pooch yesterday. The main panic is over . He has kennel cough but is also overweight ( my fault ) . So hes ok but now I have to find a suitable diet for him , which isn't easy when he point blank refuses to eat dry food . Hes a fussy fucker he really is . Thanks to everyone who was concerned , Pooch sends licks and kisses to you all " try soaking it in a bit of gravy . Worth a try xx

This is what I used to do with my dogs dry food, just a bit of warm water makes a gravy and moistens they kibble up a bit, I wouldn’t recommend using Oxo etc as it maybe too salty and cause more problems
