"Been suffering from hair loss the past couple of months after being on a really strong medication. My doctor told me it was temporary alopecia but it literally hasn't stopped. Been using every supplement and hair oil under the sun but everytime I pulled another clump of my beautiful, thick waist-length hair out it was like a knife through the heart. So I just put it into two ponytails and cut it all off. And it looks shit and uneven, like I hacked at it with a machete. And I look ugly as fuck. And I'm just sat here crying at what an impulsive dickhead I am. But at least it won't hurt so much now when it falls out. " aww ..I'm sure it's going to grow back ...short hair will be cooler and more practical in the heat ..hugs xx

When my dad died my hair fell out... then I had a hysterectomy and again 6 months later the same happened. Allow your body to adapt. A good supplement I have used is called pharmaton. It should help. Good luck xx

" I understand how you feel my daughter has alopecia since she was 3 yrs went bald at 8 viral infections were the cause its a auto immune disease and can be triggered by a viral infection or medication or changes in hormones, if its your medication it may come back, as hard as it is my suggestion is to get your hair cut into a nice style that will minimise the effect and if its shaped it will make you feel a little better rather than having it look uneven, your personality and will shine through, dig deep but there are support groups that can help xx thinking about you take care

"Your hair will recover, it can be replaced with a temporary hair piece to help you regain your dignity but your medication is the most important thing. I would hug you if I could " Thanks, I actually stopped taking my meds as soon as I noticed. I wasn't meant to be on it for as long as I was but my GP just kept repeating the prescription instead of referring me to a specialist. Now that this has happened he's referred me but still trying to get to the bottom of it.

"Shave it all off. Seen so many women do this during the lockdown and it always looks stunning x then buy yourself a tonne of wigs and change it up whenever you feel like it x" Can't afford a wig realistic ones are hundreds of pounds and I was made redundant during lockdown, which is also adding to my stress.

"Thanks for the kind words everyone. I'm feeling a bit better. I'm going to go to the hairdresser tomorrow and get it sorted. I wish I had just gone to them in the first place but let's just say this isn't the only stressful thing going on in my life at the moment, I guess I just snapped and had a bit of a Britney moment. I'm not hopeful that it's going to grow back anytime soon though as it's already been a few months with no new growth. " I do recall your beautiful face and I think a new short haircut will frame it amazingly. And will feel good to transform for this battle x hope all goes well tomorrow.

Sometimes oil can be to strong for your hair and make it fall it. Get some fresh ginger root squeeze the juice out, put a few drop of some essential oil like olive oil, Coconut oil, Tea tree etc. Put in a spray bottle and spray onto your scalp and massage it, No need to rinsh it with shampoo, Just comb it out or leave it on. After a few days your hair will start look thicker and and will stop any hair fall. If you do see some hair loss while using it, That be just your hair stredding it will grow back. Ginseng hair tonics/hair serums with natural ingredients are good for hair loss. You can pick some up online for less then £20 like 101 hair tonic etc. Try using a natural ingredient shampoo that hos with hair loss, Or brands like Nixion who do hair thicking products .

"I got it fixed today my sister sent me to her hairdresser and he did an amazing (and very expensive) rescue job. He also made me feel better about the state of my hair as in his opinion it's not that bad and he couldn't see the bald patches but to be fair he doesn't know what it was like before when it was a lot fuller... He said the quality of it was really strong and healthy but that'll be down to the 10,000 supplements and oils I use every day! at least I know they're working lol Feeling a bit more human though, yay " what a difference a good hairdresser makes. A therapy and make over in one session

It's crazy how much importance we place on hair but it's one of the main things I always get complimented on and I always felt like having long, thick, plentiful in a way "made up" for being big, like it was one of my redeeming features. Also bringing it to the front meant I could hide behind it and it made me feel more secure and confident; I feel very bare and exposed now. Will have to take some getting used to.
