evesham

Today I got asked to do a dying friend's make up for her hastily rearranged wedding next weekend.

I'm not a trained mua but I do mess about and so a mean drag look (as in good mean, not angry looking lol) so to be asked to do this has really hit me.

Going to practice some nice neutral shades and natural looks and will be making sure I use either new brushes and makeup or her own due to 'rona.

I am just so touched that she would ask me to be involved

Oh that's quite extraordinary. I hope you both enjoy it. And I wish you both peace.

Last time I watched capharnaüm. That movie moved me so much!

Honestly. I take everything for granted and I feel so entitled to the life I have when others really struggle.

She obviously thinks a lot of you and I can fully understand why you’d feel humbled by it.

Hope the whole day goes wonderfully

The last time I felt humbled was a good few years ago now but a guy I always looked up to and had a much more successful playing career than myself was casually chatting to me after a game and informed me that his teenage son told him he was inspired by the way I played the game and wanted to play his rugby like I did.

The lad got picked up by a premiership team two years later and it still makes me feel amazingly humbled because both him and his dad were worth ten of me.

What an honour. I’ve done many things similar over the years when I was nursing.

I was humbled fairly recently on my post about disability by some lovely comments.

There’s some nice people in the world.

Good luck to your friend on the wedding xx

A little village

Every time a client shares an aspect of their past experiences with me that they find it hard to talk about. I consider it a true privilege to be trusted with others’ emotional pain, and I aim to never take that for granted.

I feel the same about my voluntary work.

the abyss

This afternoon when I was feeling a bit stressed - my old school, doesn't go to a doctors dad phoned to say he's having to get 'tests' done. The work stress was suddenly very unimportant! But as always he's more concerned about how my mum is - my dad will always be my hero

KIDLINGTON

Big hugs to you as it can't be easy to do... but I know you'll make a fantastic job of it and do her proud.

What a fantastic honour to share that magic moment with her and it'll be one you can cherish for ever.. xx
