I’ve heard lots about the airport I’m book to go next year, that’s the one bit I’m dreading

Personally, I’d rather stay healthy and spend two weeks doing stuff fairly locally that doesn’t come with health warnings.

Good luck finding something

Do you like fast cars. As in from a standing start if so you'll love it. Maybe not so good at the back of the plane when your flying back home.

We're in the middle of a pandemic: just saying in case people have missed that. Situations are changing by the day: you can't predict what's going to happen.

Just returned from furlough, latest suggestions over 50s to stay in...hard to plan life at home one day to the next let alone take this craziness on the road.

Therefore, knowing the current world situation and you could be stranded/quarantined at any moment, go and get on with it, no one can offer advise as our risk/jobs/family etc dictates how, as individuals we act.

Any country could have 14 day restriction announced at a moments notice. You are guessing which country would not have a spike 6 weeks from now, good luck with that!

You could easily find 4 weeks from now your destination applies 14 day rule to arrivals from UK whilst you are on the flight!

Personally I just wouldn’t bother, stay here and support our crippled domestic economy not that of Jonny foreigner

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-travel-corridors

You can check here for updates on list of countries/places which are exempt from you needing to quarantine. However, as already mentioned things can change significantly in the days, weeks and months to come.

Depends which side from what I’ve researched. The caldera side the restaurants seem more expensive than the other side. But if you do your research there are plenty of cheaper tavernas with good reviews. And of course Yummy Gyros are super cheap like the are everywhere in Greece

Oh shit I hate flying. Already reserved the extra leg room seats at the front so thankfully not at the back. Crete was a interesting experience by plane too. Sudden dip and land

The whole island is actually called Thera. But yes Fira is on the caldera side so more expensive.

We've just booked a couple of days in UK. We're not even sure that's going ahead now.

There's nothing any one of us can do but accept that life is very uncertain now. The way we looked at it when our foreign holidays were cancelled was that we have food on the table and a roof over our heads. We're lucky.

I'm not sure why anybody would want to go on holiday in the middle of a world pandemic! I've cancelled two holidays this year and, although it's disappointing, the thought of going on holiday in a mask, constantly worrying about the social distancing, sanatising and being squished on a plane etc. just isn't worth it. Imagine getting sick abroad? I'm afraid I have zero sympathy for anybody going anywhere with the risk of quarantine on return. Essential travel yes, holidays this year, no!

Personally I'd give this year a miss and stay in this country. Worse case scenario, do you really want to be hospitalised in a foreign hospital? It's possible it's better than here, but do you want to take that chance?

Hence Gibraltar might be worth considering as it's UK territory and they seem to have managed the virus very well so far
