Got my dad a really nice bottle of red wine and some handmade chocolate ginger sweets.

My mum is taking him out for a meal because when he married her he married two kids as well. Did a damn good job as a dad and husband bless him. xx

Sheffield

A card, a commemerative Olympics tin of heroes shaped like a London bus (he's v patriotic and got a sweet tooth) a t shirt ( he wears his to death and walks round looking like a ragbag till we get him new ones) and a DVD of puss in boots he can watch with his grandkids.

Big hugs and lots of thoughts to those of you who only have the option of flowers for your dads.

I will be buying my dad a bottle of "nuit st georges" red wine it's his favourite, and we are having a big slap up lunch together with me [ his only child] and all his grandchildren and great children, he has a bad fall recently so I'm hoping it will cheer him up. Like the post above I am sending love to you all whose dad is no longer here ...My hubby will get spoilt too as when he married me he inherited 2 teenagers and a 6 month old baby, all of whom he has raised as his own, and they adore him, not sure if he is a saint or just plain mad . Have a good un all you lovely dad's...xxxx

No idea if I'll be getting anything from my kids as relations with The Ex are somewhat strained at the best of times

I haven't really thought about Fathers day until I saw this thread.....and read the posts

Its the first one without my beautiful dad, he died on January. Its breaking my heart he not here...We'd make a huge fuss of him and he'd lap it up, and deservedly so...

So I shall take a trip to the cemetery

My dad passed away 6 years ago so you have my sympathies x

Personally I'll spend some quiet time thinking about him and my memories of him :o)
