Musing again.

Do you think single people are true swingers?

What’s your take on it?

I don’t class myself as a true swinger in every sense of the word, I just like fun.

Swinging isn’t a question of numbers.

It’s a state of mind

There and to the left a bit

Perhaps if you defined a "true swinger" it might help - even though it would only be your definition, because in my opinion the *only* definition of a "true swinger" is the one someone that labels themself a swinger holds for themselves - what others think doesn't matter

Love this. We only meet those who 'get it'. That's the swinging world as we know it.

You may discover or think the swinging life is for you, but you have to start somewhere!I knew I wanted the life and tried to explore with my last partner but she wouldn't. Now single and want to embrace the swinging lifestyle

What is true swinging? If it's only old school wife swap - where does bi play in various forms between couples come in? And is threesome only possible if one of the 4 participants agrees to just watch?

Think everyone is a true swinger (single, couple or otherwise) if they have it right in their mind.

I quite like borrowing other peoples husbands, if I chose them from a key in a bowl all the better.

Not sure I’d class myself as a swinger, I just like meeting new people, having a flirt and getting to know them.

I'm not sure (despite it's name) it is an exclusively "swingers" website though - but again comes back to your definition of "swinger"

The word was first coined back in the 60s to describe the move away from the traditional "one partner for life" way of living, to one of free love and multiple partners, hence the term "Swinging Sixties" - so in that sense anyone who indulges in non-monogamy is by definition "a swinger"

Interesting. Personally to us - It is the separation of sex and sexuality from relationships and the ability (freedom) to explore whilst in a fulfilling relationship - *generally* with others in a similar setup though like many we look to both singles and couples.

The 50's concept where the phrase evolved was appropriated by mainstream media looking for titillation and the "foam-at-the-mouth" belief that everyone was "at it" (early FOMO?). It tied in with a whole American and quite nasty presentation of social veneer - that behind closed doors people were corrupt, had indiscriminate sex, beat their partners and (the real agenda) were communists. UK swinging 60s was in some ways a much more innocent, broader counterculture.

Swinger or no, some of the "don't label me" is BS. People label themselves when it suits them. Some for belief, some for advantage.

Bottom line. It's a swingers site. You're here, you are...

There will be many reasons why someone ends up on this website and, because of its 'looseness', be able to use it in a way which suits each person individually.

We probably all share a certain 'state of mind' (or wish to) which is why we gravitated here in the first place.
