Tin town

Suns out, sky is blue, time for some music... Music is so evocative there must be songs that bring you wonderful memories... What are yours and why?

I start off..

All shook up.. First song I learned to play on guitar

Starry eyes. The records... Lost my virginity to that...

True spandau.. The song for my first love...

There and to the left a bit

It Must Be Love - Madness ...means a lot to me on so many different levels, favourite band, reference to my kids and more besides

Endless Love - Diana Ross and Lionel Richie ...a difficult one that I couldn't listen to for years but was "our song" for my first love (even though it wasn't that endless as we split up when I was seventeen) - still makes me a little wistful when I hear it even now

Into The Valley - The Skids ...the first song I can remember as being a "lads dance" at school discos

Down In The Tube Station At Midnight - The Jam ...just the perfect "story" song

There are so many more too, but those are the ones that sprang to mind

Together In Electric dreams/Phil Oakey.Reminds me of the most romantic night i've ever had with someone.

Marching On Together/Leeds United.My first ever football game, and the beginning of my love for the Mighty Whites

Just the way you are - Billy Joel for similar reasons

Child In Time - Deep Purple - it began my love affair with Rock music

Rainbow Eyes - Rainbow - learned to play and sing it when I thought I’d lost the love of my life.

You’re my best friend- Queen It was the song that we used most to get my son off to sleep when he was upset and struggling as a baby.

Take it easy - Eagles - First song I ever performed live in front of an audience
