Curry sauce! If I'm eating al fresco then I'll have pie and chips. Al fresco is posh for getting chips on the walk home from the pub.

Never tried either, but isn't curry sauce too strong a flavour for fish and chips?

Neither.

A bit of tartar sauce goes nice with the fish though, or a nice hot chilli sauce with the chips (don't think I'd want both at the same time though)

Never had curry sauce with my chips but did buy a jar in Sainsbury's this week to cook some chicken. Might just dip a chip.

Ooh.You've just reminded me, I got fish n chips on my way home last night.Such z massive portion that I halved it and saved some for tonight. Mm mmm, large fish, chips, mushy peas and (I lived in Yarkshire for 30 years) gravy. I even have beer to wash it down.

Completely without. Unless I make it at home and then I have salad with it. However I really only buy fish and chips out when I’m at a Flower Show these days. Haven’t frequented a chippy in years.

Mushy peas and tartar sauce.

Sometimes curry on the side to dip chips in.

When I first moved up here, my friend got me onto chips covered in mushy peas and curry sauce. Absolutely divine!

Depends on the mood.

Fish and chips usually with curry sauce.

Prefer mushy peas with a pork pie and mint sauce.

For some reason a good chip shop curry goes with fish & chips. Or just chips.

But £ 1.50 for a tiny tub - no haha

Make your own - from iceland or famrfoods or local butchers - chinese style curry mix for a quid and make a big pan load.

lush

Mushy peas - however, proper mushy peas are unknown in most of the chippies down south. It’s usually fluorescent green gloop.

(Q: can you still get proper mushy peas further north? I think I may have had them at a Harry Ramsden’s.)

Otherwise, tartare sauce or mayonnaise, but never curry sauce.
