What are your favourite garden plants?

Generally, or a particular one flowering in your garden at the moment.

I like Roses, lavateras, Phloxes, hydrangeas, and have a nice Potentilla flowering in the garden at the moment.

Tangutica - the bright yellow lantern flowers just cheer you up in Summer! The fluffy seed heads make me laugh too..

I collect Orchids now and again. They are so pretty & elegant (more of a house plant though....)

Always have herbs you can pick them to eat as you pass by : Mint varieties (Moroccan mint makes the best tea in my opinion); Rosemary; Chives.

I collect trees like oaks and Scotts pine. I have an olive and fruit trees. All from cuttings or saplings. I shape them.

Basicly most species of common trees and some exotic ones. (Juniper and maple are easy)

Scott's pine is my favourite. I am glad to have a cutting rooted into a sapling.

Does anyone know where I can grab a "broad leaf field elm"

You will remember it from being a kid because of the huge leaves but they died in the 1990s

I have permission (by park ranger) to find one in rochdale if i can.

I wanted to do one from cuttings.

I have a small "giant serquoia" (redwood) near my home but I failed on taking cuttings. You need to get a crane or climb to the top to grab the top foliage for cuttings I think.

I took on an allotment at the start of lockdown - figured since everyone was retired...

My dad has always been enthusiastic about gardening - I realised I'd missed having green space & nature around me having grown up with an amazing garden (which I still sneak back to to steal cuttings from his plants).

I've no particular favourites, perhaps courgette flowers, which I plan to stuff & deep fry on tempura batter - heard good things about that.

I most enjoy the lush explosion of growth over the summer. The managers aren't so keen on the 's' but the life fills my heart.

You're not wrong! I have to prune the rhizomes on a regular basis to control the bamboo running spread.

This is the first year that I've really taken up gardening and I'm totally loving it.

I've got quite a few bedding plants in baskets and planters including geraniums, sufina, and lobelia, and loving them.

I've bought an Acer and some lavender and some other plants and I'm hoping they will all do well. My favourite's are actually succulents and cactus, and I've got a window ledge full of those and I tend very gently to them.
