Their physical appearance matched how beautiful they are as a person.

I realise of course there would be lots of grey area as as we all like different traits in people and beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I found it an interesting ponder.

Wouldn't it be amazing to be able to see by looking at somebody if they are as internally attractive to you as they might be externally?

Is personality that important if you're just going to have sex with someone? Would you be friends or marry someone just because they look great?

If I was hooking up with someone for casual sex I wouldn't have time to know them long enough to find put if they were a good person or not, so would it really matter? If I wanted a long term relationship or friendship that would develop over time and I'd be able to find out what they were really like and attraction can grow from there.

In my social life I don't refuse to get to know people based on what they look like which is what would happen. That would lead to a lot of missed opportunities.

I agree totally, I wasn't referring the lifestyle I was just thinking it would be interesting if that's how the world was.

I can't actually remember the story from the film Shallow Hal so I'm going to put it back on my watch list as if I remember properly I think the kids would enjoy it too!

Though joking aside and returning to the OP....people change and evolve? Would they physically see their appearance become less attractive if their personality changed? I wonder if that would be more influential on behaviour than simply recognising that kindness should be an aim?

Depends how you apply kindness but that's a whole other debate.

I think you'd see grief, unhappiness, jealousy and hurt more easily and maybe that would make you more inclined to be understanding towards another person. Or if you were the kind of person who goes for looks less so. I don't know.

I'm not sure i agree (not just to disagree for the sake).

I've genuinely met people who have begaved in a terrible manner and even acted heiniously towards those who love them. When you dig deeper you realise how complex peoples lives can be, and how internally they so wanted to be someone else and be helped. They simply couldn't. That's not true ugliness that's the plight of troubled soul's?
