I am no dog lover but read of people paying thousands for a pedigree.

When I was a kid nobody had a pedigree and all dogs were cross bred. Owners gave the pups away for free...

The good old days..

My puppy lost a tooth today, I was like "holy shit I've broken your tooth!", then I googled they're supposed to come out between 3 and 6 months, it's all good.....

Our six year old dog is losing his front teeth lol, he’s in good health just common for his breed. New pup to add to the family in a weeks time

You hate sharks, crocodiles, pigeons, now puppies.

Damn.

I always judge people on their love for animals or not.

Humans are the worst species

It's not only pedigrees that are making thousands now. I've heard of Jack Russel pups making over a grand each.

I think lockdown as boosted the prices up but I can't see it lasting.

My girl wanted a mini-dachs, we ended up with a mini-jack because dogs were literally selling like hot cakes and we saw one we fell in love with and she just HAD to have it....

I thought Jack Russells were pedigree..

Is that why they are not at Crufts ?

They're recognised by some as pedigrees. It's a working dog though.. Basically couloured mongrels in my opinion.

I've never known anyone who have owned a jack Russel with the paper work or whatever it is to prove its a pedigree dog.

Excellent choice. I've never met one that wasn't adorable. Poor much maligned breed?

They’re great dogs and I wouldn’t trade mine for a million dollars.

Thank you for explaining...

I dabbled in the dog show world and did not like what I saw...

People say I am anti dog..

Nonsense...

But better a mongrel off a friend for free than a grand for a pedigree..

Heinz 57 for me

I had a Heinz Variety from a fella in work when his had pups.

If i were to have another I’d go down the rescue route rather than Pedigree but a friend has a Pedigree Welsh Corgi and she’s a beauty.

I believe it’s only fairly recently they’ve been recognised as a pedigree. I may be wrong, I often am
