The quickest guaranteed way is to make an appointment at your local passport office and get a same day issue

?

Last year when I looked at it the fastrack option was fill in the online form and then go to one of the passport offices in person to take your ID and collect your passport - obviously that may be different in the current situation

They have stopped doing that as they are so behind with applications, was on the BBC news

perth

I needed to get a replacement one recently in a rush & they were only doing them if there was an urgent need on campassionate grounds (which I qualified for), it took about 3 weeks for mine to arrive but it could have been done quicker if I had been able to get to a passport office for an 'in person' appointment.

In terms of standard applications the guy I spoke to said they had a significant delay.

Current advice is don't book a holiday until you get your new passport as you will lose your money if it doesn't arrive in time.
