German Sheepherd or Border Collie (prefereably a collie crossed with a GSD, all the brains of an alsatian, not as much of the neuroticism, not as many of the health problems of a GSD either) or a Jack..............

I like smart dogs and Jack's are fiesty enough to make up for their small stature......

The two I have. My bearded collie, second one I've had and they are super smart and people friendly. My other dog is a big galumpus of a labradoodle .... thick as a plank but so soft and lovable that he gets away with murder.

I've grown up with staffies all my life, I can say they really are the nanny dogs. But for me? It HAS to be the shar pei. With their hippo mouths? Gorgeous, and all those wrinkles!

he said,, aye ok...and i brought out my big fancy camera...he was like

Used to call my ex husband shar pei or temple dog ..... he eventually grew into his wrinkled fizzog by the time he was about 40.

yes well ours is 14 years old and struggles badly getting up and laying down but she is still happy so we are not going to do anything yet as long as she is happy as it will be heartbreaking

The sharpei Has o many problems skin eyes ears costs a fortune in vets bills . One of the ones we have registered is on 200 pounds worth of meds a month for life thank gawd for Pet Plan.. He has his ear canals removed and had entropion ops on both eyes. His face is so sore he has no wrinkles cos he is permenantly swollen.

yes well a dog is only as good as its owner,and be honest my huskey i do have to keep away from babies as she is very very protective as i have found out with friends kids as they can not go near there own child as she starts to growel so i have to retrive crawling child on floor with huskey guarding and watching over child.....but she is very strange anyway ......lol

My mad little mongrel is currently licking my feet - he's adorable.

Amongst our circle of dog walkers the only dogs who can match up to him for loveability and madness are all big dogs - Newfies, labradoodles and Old English sheepdogs. However, if I could ever take on a big dog again it would be a boxer - simply the best dogs in the world with beautiful temperaments and great energy levels...

Depends really, I love them all! I have personally had a yorkshire terrier x Japanese crested. He was a little rotter but looks hilarious. People always used to approach me on the street asking what he was. Then I had a bull mastiff, which was the other end of the scale size wise. Absolutely gorgeous dog. People seemed scared of her as she was quite a lump but she was the biggest softie ever. My staff was also amazing, but in a totally different way! So obedient-I taught him to sit and give his paws and lay down and roll over the first day I got him at 8 weeks old. But very hyperactive. I couldn't keep up! Luckily my ex takes him running about 20 miles a week which keeps the hyperactivity at bay!

I never got the whole thing of Rotwielers being 'Dangerous Godgs', I have met a few and they have always been realy friendly.....

Personaly, I don't like Bull Terriers, if for no other reason than thay I don't find them pleasing to the eye. I have never had any trouble with one yet though.........

Alaskan Malamute

Have had a greyhound and was brought up with Boxers and Whippets as my grandad used to breed them.

Currently have a cross staffie which at the moment I could happily strangle !

Was fannying about in bedroom, came in living room to find him on the sofa chewing his way thru a blue permanent marker

So guess who now has a beigey coloured settee with navy blue spots ?

Personaly, I don't like Bull Terriers, if for no other reason than thay I don't find them pleasing to the eye. I have never had any trouble with one yet though.........

a bull type or any dog bred for agression is going to be more dangerous than others.

Only ever had one dog and he was just the bestest mate a man could wish for.

He was an ex working Border Collie, Black and White, purebred and so very intelligent. Didn't need a lead as he was always one inch from my right knee. He was about 7 when he came into my life, I had a drawing done of him when he was about 12 and its on my wall here still and he was 16 when I sadly had to have him put to sleep due to cancer. He now rests in a lovely pets cemetary in Cornwall and I visit the place regularly.

I will never want another dog as I have had the best already.

The guy who moved in next door to me has two Rottweiller's and they are very aggrestive but thats because he encourages them to to bark and people and when he sees another dog hes shouting "get it" at his dogs

I remember the first day he moved in, about 2 months ago i let my dog out and his was on the garden and one of them tried to get over the fence at my dog and he was just laughing, keeping in mind he had moved in that day and this was the very first contact i had with him, i said to him, can you get your dog, as it was trying to get over the fence at mine and he said, why is your dog scared? so i said no idea but i dont want it getting over and hurting him, as i only have a greyhound and theres no way he'd fight a dog like that, anyway he was saying....aww scared dog and mocking and shouting at his dog to get the dog, meaning mine so i got my dog and went to take him in and the guy shouted, yeah take him in we dont want him getting hurt, so i said that his dogs wouldnt hurt mine and he replied, what are you saying your dogs harder than mine so i said no but he can ******* run faster

now im sorry but any dog in the hands of a owner like that is going to be dangerous, to him they are just a status symbol that makes him look hard and i think the more aggresive they are the harder he thinks he looks

to be honest im not scared of dogs and i dont think all Rottweiller are bad just because i live next door to two that i wouldnt trust as far as i can throw them

But at the end of the day there are some nasty dogs out there so as far as kids go you cant blame people for keeping their kids away from certain dogs they dont know, cause i think if them two next door to me ever got out they would do some damage, i still say not to my dog tho cause they still wouldnt catch him ive always told my kids not to touch dogs they dont know

We'd had German Shephards for over 20 years but all that changed 4 years ago when we got a Newfie. These very affectionate gentle giants think they're lapdogs tho! We've now got 2 and I don't think I'd have any other breed, despite the non stop grooming and gallons of slobber they produce

When i met my husband,he had a boxer dog that was as mad a brush...he once ate a whole loaf of bread and two days later my husband noticed the bread bag hanging out of his backside and had to pull it out...man..did that dog bolt when he pulled it out.

I love all dogs and have had several over the years but my favourite breed of all is the gorgeous Pekingese, small dog, massive character. Had 3 Pekes and all were fantastic dogs. My big softy German Shepherd used to love playing with them.

out of all the dogs have had scots border collies ,collies, german shepherds, labradors, lurchers have now got two dalmations and they are the best so much character and yes they do grin/smile

I have a lab and a German shepherd.

My favourite dog is a Boxer.

But the best dog I had was a German shepherd lab cross.

Protection and loyalty of a shepherd but also the good nature and obedience of a lab

I have never had any other breed but springer spaniels, of which I've had two. I do like cockers, think they are pretty, my inlaws had a cocker spaniel, but I like the slightly bigger springer. They are so friendly and mad as a hatter. My lovely girl let's me put hairbands on her and brush her ears and put bows in them, she's 12 now and so used to it all.

I'm not keen on King Charles spaniels, don't like their sticking out eyes
