Worthing

One of the all time selling albums (all genres of music not just heavy rock) was released today in 1980. Recorded just a few months after the death of Bon Scott, it became a fitting tribute.

One of my ringtones (after Match of the Day) off one of my first mobile phones, always got a look off people when it went off

Still have the copy I bought as a teenager on vinyl, not one filler track on the album, a classic

Yup great album , great band .. it was the start of the punk era when “ Let there be rock “ came out .. everything was getting blown away by the new sound .. Ac/dc hung in there though ..and held there own with the punks , as did Motörhead

I had a day off work to go and buy the album on its release date of 25 July 1980.

AC/DC were the first band that I ever saw (with Bon Scott) at the Kings Hall in Derby in 1977

Also the bells from Hells Bells used to signal the start of British and world championship motocross races at Foxhills nr Swindon .. You would hear the sound of the Bells and moments later 40 screaming MX bikes would jump into the valley ... Hairs on the back of your neck type stuff

Brilliant album. They use to play in a pub at the end of my road back home when I was young. It shut before I was old enough to go. Bugger

Even though I now listen to Hardcore and Hardstyle I do occasionally put this on in the van along with a bit of early Iron Maiden, brings back my youth and ‘Monsters of Rock’ day’s.

It's alright for you to laugh, but I will attempt to do another one in the not too distant future

The fiest time I saw Iron Maiden, with Paul Di'Anno, was at the Assembley Rooms Derby in 1980, Def Leppard were the support group

My parents are not heavy rock fans but think ac/dc are a great band! They really are the best live band I've seen.

Phenomenal album. I (Luke) love it and do do my children.

I wasn't quite sure what to do when my eight-year-old son kept singing "Let me put my love into you, babe" at school.
