It normally seems to happen right after I've posted on of my 'terribly witty' comments - I used to think that it was everyone else shaking their heads whilst thinking 'well that thread is ruined now' and then leaving, but I now know it's just the maximum number of posts has been reached

If you can’t be bothered messing round with the URL, I usually find I can get into a thread I’ve posted on recently using the back button. I did it once on an awards night after party thread that carried on until about 250 posts
