I miss having no responsibilities, gifts in cereal, waiting for mum to finish off the washing up liquid so I could have a water fight. How about you?

South Wales

My grampy’s greenhouse.

It smelled of tomatoes and he had a water butt outside where he would pop in bottles of soda stream pop (on a string) to cool off ready for when we had finished the watering.

I don’t miss the spiders.

Meeting up with my friends at the local open air pool. Was brilliant. Families could have lil ones splashing in the baby pools, areas to sunbathe and picnic, and when there was rain or thunderstorms it was still great.

It’s now all enclosed, has been for years, so the young ones in the town have never experienced the freedom we had.

And I have a tool for taking stones out of horses hooves

Being carefree...Long summer holidays where we would get booted out of the house and only went back when we were hungry

I miss sitting by the fire in the kitchen watching my Dad make my toast over the flames during the powercuts.

Eating jacket potato straight out of the foil after they had been cooked in the bottom of the fire grate. Who needs plates! Just butter maybe some cheese

Riding bikes in the streets and guitar rifts

Laughing at everything no matter how daft

And always returning home to me mam and me dad

Movies were magical and music was great

Sweets were cheap and to eat them was okay

Not worrying about the planet, or weight or being dafy

And my mates, crap cider and once a week baths

I think you should suck on a tip-top. I wonder if you can still get them haha

I'm not sure what it is.

Tip tops, impossible to open without scissors and give your hands frost bite whilst slurping them

Jubbly?!

Jubbly are the ones in cardboard, a bit posher I think. These are in lip slicing sharp plastic

So an icepop then "

I think ours were called Mr Freeze. I remember having the blue ones, don't know what the flavour was supposed to be. I used to smack them against the bars of the swings etc to break it up and help it melt. I sucked out all the flavour and was left with a packet of ice which we tipped down the back of each other's t-shirts.

Playing outside all weekend and only going home to get fed.

And the lack of worries and responsibilities. Adult life is tough at times.
