Who has tinkered in their back garden? Built something from an old pallet or tyre?

Who cooks in their garden in a kitchen they designed? Built shade from scaffold planks? Are you proud?

You should be.

I'll be building myself a small cooking station in mine and I'm silly excited.

"Built my compost heap from old pallets "

Excellent ! Don’t put paper and food waste in it as you will get rats ! They make nests in the paper and eat the food

Did you break the trolley down at all or use it whole?

Fortunately not at all overlooked

But no ... height for a more 3 dimensional garden

Lengthways with holes cut out for planting. Used string to tie them together and made small holes for drainage.

I'm in the middle of making a Hot Tub from a 1000ltr IBC Tank, clad in insulation board I got freecycled, which is being framed by dismantled pallet timber.

When it's finished it will be going into our new garden spa which I will make predominantly from pallets for the walls and floor.

I find the challenge of upcycling really interesting and very fulfilling when it works well.

I made a sun lounger from recycled timber and pallet slats last year, which I am particularly proud of.

We just need the sun to reappear for a few months so I can crack on with my upcycling plans!

I pruned a copper beech and the hedgerows that border the paddocks. All of the branches of size have been piled up along the bottom of the hedges for hopefully stag beetle homes. Ultimate upcycling from their point of view.
