"I must be one of the lucky ones as I've always found that when I'm determined to lose weight I have done. I track all my calories and find it surprisingly easy to stick to 1200 calories a day... that's actually quite a lot of food. My trouble is that I'm too lazy to stick with it once I get to my desired weight and old habit sneak back in. I think op that if you know what you need to do but aren't doing it then you aren't that bothered. So why the rant?" Because I know to see results on the scales, I would have to eat practically nothing. For me..just cutting back & portion size control is not enough. I would seriously have to eat a very cal low diet per day to see weighing scale results. I did that in my 20's and saw results within a few weeks. Defo not the same now that I am in my 40's!!!

"I'm sure I've read before that too much exercise can slow down weight loss too. Might be why I've never struggled too much. " There are tacticts that could help to combat that like having diet breaks and refeed days.

Not when you're trying to get adequate nutrition and protein. I've had comments in work when I'm sat there with two boiled eggs and a handful of nuts and dried fruit for my lunch. And that's a quarter of my daily calories.

"Op, you’ve got lovely body, but only you know how you feel good. Why not try Intermittent fasting, 5:2 is extremely effective and has significant health benefits too. Hippy" Heard of that is supposed to boost your immune system also

"...if I wanted to see scales weight loss! I dont know why I bother to weigh myself. I know its diet related as a couple of yrs ago, I went through a traumatic experience & due to extreme anxiety I couldnt eat. Lost 2 stone. I was exercising the same amount. That wasnt sustainable...obviously. I exercise every day sometimes twice a day. Lift weights etc. I eat fairly ok. I know how to clean up my diet. But seriously, I would have to eat practically nothing to see results on the scales. I know muscle weighs more than fat & I do go by clothes and generally dont weigh myself. They say as a woman when you are over 35, the weight sticks to you like glue. They werent kidding. Starve myself as an experiment??? No thanks. I love my food Rant over. Off to get my 14th tattoo done. MsD" Sound like you need the 5/2 Graet for food lover's but with some will power ..

"Does it bother you that the scales don’t change OP? If you’re feeling good and know that you’re eating as well as you can and getting some exercise in? I haven’t weighed myself in a looooong time, just go by how loose/tight my clothes are. Atm they’re rather tight " Haha! Yes this!

"Middle age spread passed me by. I am slimmer now than i was in my younger years and i never put weight on even though i want to." Same. I’m slimmer now at 35 than I’ve been most my life and also can’t put weight on despite wanting to.
