What nice things have been said to you recently? It's all to easy to focus on the negatives.

My kids declared me the best thing in the universe yesterday after getting home from their Dad's!

I also need to remember to say more nice things to people, I used to do it lots but seem to a lot less recently. Such a small way to spread some warmth

A friend sent me the message below the other day made me cry buckets

You are a single mother of two, you have escaped a dangerous husband, you found yourself and your two children a beautiful house. You have pride, you have dignity, you are a Dr. You can do anything

That is sweet. Why shouldn't men get flowers? DO you own a vase? You should buy some for little sometimes.

My sister in law sent me this on fb when I told her about my sister trying to commit suicide and my mental health...

‘ Hey, I know i have messaged you on Instagram sorry for spamming you but I just wanted to reach out so you knew that you had someone to talk too. I know things are still a little awkward between us but we are both mums now and kinda puts us in a unique club. I may not always be able to relate to what you are feeling or going through but I will always listen and have empathy. I'm not always great at knowing what to say i dont have a lot of friends, so if this is a bit forward or weird sorry. Just know that you are doing amazing, it might not feel like it sometimes but you are orians whole world and from what I saw on sunday you guys are amazing together, you are an amazing mum. I'm really sorry you are going through a shitty time (excuse the language) but it will make you a stronger person and mother. You're tough, kind and powerful. Again sorry for spamming you but sometimes you need to know someone cares hopefully we can have a good proper chat on Saturday

.

A dear friend told me how much she liked a photo of a partner and myself and the reasons why. She's not really one for gushing or giving compliments left, right and centre and the fact she did and also that she "approves" of him and how happy he makes me means a lot to me. Not that I need her approval as such, more that it means a lot coming from her.

Quite a lot from some lovely friends.

Mainly then trying to tell me to stop complaining about my weight and that I have a lovely bum

The ones that really stand out though are the compliments I got from the school mum's after I wrote a poem for our year 6 leavers. It made quite a few of them cry and a friend told me my writing was amazing. It was lovely to know how much they enjoyed it.

I found an ancient antique looking crystal one we inherited years ago at the back of a cupboard and they're in that sat on the breakfast table. Did make me think I need to make our home a bit more homely for her....

I'm a bit funny with flowers because that's pretty much the only thing we do for her mum twice a year. They always just make me a bit edgey and weird idk why.....

Why don't you grow some with your little one so you can pick them and put them in the house? Something you two can do together maybe, used to love doing that as a kid, or even collect from hedges on walks

It's good to be acknowledged and know you're not alone. And then to be seen as awsome! You really must be.

(Also, cool kid name!)

That's cool, she's taken time to voice positive thoughts when she doesn't often

Someone made me cry recently when they said 'I wish you could see yourself through my eyes, you would value yourself a lot more'

I try and say something nice to someone everyday. Words cost nothing and have the ability to empower and motivate

My neice told me she loves the grey streak I have had put in my hair!

I haven't dyed my hair. I'm just ageing. Fast!

Made me smile though.

I got a lot of compliments on my dress today.

A coworker also was really thankful to me for being understanding of how she's struggling coming back to work from shielding and it was so nice to know you've helped someone like that.
